Larkton House Farm Pictures

The aim for the day was to get all the bales of the field and onto trailers as it had given heavy rain the following day, so they only have 3 large Marshall trailers ( sorry don't know the exact sizes ) and one small one they had to borrow 2 home made trailers from a neighboring farm.

The trailers that wouldn't fit in the barn had to be put in the spare silage shed until they can be unloaded at a later date.

you sure this is a working farm ?  :D

probably one of the heaviest crops i've seen this year

great pics again chap , as said shame to see the other 300's go but sure sign of progress in the way of replacements. i supose the head mans tractor will be up within the next few years .

got to admit whoever buys those ex larkton tractors must be well chuffed with the condition they're in

Any update Hody?? on the fleet etc

Thanks for bringing my topic back out in the open. I had other topics with more pics but I cant find them so assume they were lost in the forum change over some time ago. Nothing has changed really regarding the tractors apart from the Mf550 went to pastures new and was replaced by a Newholland. The current tractor fleet is now MF 390, Mf 5445 x 2, Mf399 and New Holland TD5010. I have now renamed this topic Larkton Hose Farm Pictures and will put some more pics up as and when.

Silage 2018 is go at Larkton House Farm. My dad has also gained a new toy to play with too. Its a Krone centre pivot mower, 2013 vintage that has been very well looked after by its last owner. Its replaced the ageing Tarrup mower which will be kept for topping.

crop a bit light simon?? or is that just the angle. At least 3 weeks behind here given the winter/spring we had

Some fields are better than others, they have 3 silage sheds in total with one still full from last year so they are not desperate for silage unlike some others. They will probably harvest two to three cuts and some round bales too. They just decided to go for it whilst good weather was forecast.

Nice photos there.  I like the New Holland on the scraper, always nice to see the supporting tractors.

Funny thing is the scraper tractor is the newest tractor on the farm. It replaced a Mf 550.
