Cutting organic triticale for a local diary farmer, these are the father (TF42) and son (TX34) who I work with for silaging and other work throughout the year. I was driving this TX34 in balrey on Tuesday. The TF42 is an F reg with 3300hrs I think and the TX34 is a G reg with over 4000hrs on it although the one owner who had her up untill this year has cherished it very well. Crops was good, not as thick straw or seed yield as the field cut before this but the farmer and wife were pretty pleased as a whole with the 30acres they put in in total. It will form part of their rotation following three years with red clover.

TX34 heading into the corner and the TF42 leading away up the hill.

Last two, TX before dropping down the other side to dump. TF having dumped now setting off up the hill while the TX dumps another load of triticale in the trailer. Both Kubota's were bought in the last two months brand new from an ag engineers who have just got the franchise locally. Trade-ins were a John Deere 6400 which had just about cost it's brand new retail price in repairs at ten years old. The other, a really tidy 2850.

Cheers guys, they do make a nice pair when at it both together. The plan was to be in two places at the same time but with the weather being so hit and miss it is better to be in one place half the time. Very different swathes left from each machine, the TF carries straw up either side of the combine then it is deflected into a central swathe, leaving it pyriamid like. The TX leaves a very nice box like swathe off it's straw walkers. TF has lateral float header which is nice, TX doesn't nor does it have self levelling sieves. Both on 17ft cut I think. Nice old girls.  :)

Not as cheap as you would think to be honest. As sods law goes, when they wern't looking for a combine, trade was low and a TX64 went cheap. Then trade picked up and a position came along where more capacity was needed!! Always the way ::)
