Free/cheap database program for Models and Brochures - anyone know of one

Recommended Posts

As per the topic title really... I'd like to record my brochure collection in a database at some point.. and perhaps my model collection.  Anyone know of an easily customisable freeware (or cheapish) program I can use please ???

What I am really trying to achieve is a way to sort my brochures by various criteria... such as year, country of origin, value etc.

Any help/sensible suggestions most welcome.

Any Database program is easy enough to use..even for you  :-* I use Microsoft access ...but there are a lot better..try  ;)

Dan Goodhead ..think he is still a mod on here  :-\ He had some software he was working on a few years back and from what I saw it was pretty good

i use excel, well i got sue to sort one out for me, once i get the disc sorted when i click on the description it will open a picture of it up as well, pretty simple to do apparently

I use Exel as well but I haven't figured out how to attach a photo to the list, anyone like to give a lesson on how to do it  ??? ??? ???

can ask sue to do me a write up and  will post it up, something to do with hyperlinks and that sort of thing,it also works different ways between each version of excel, my 2007 versions different to her 2005 works one

one thing i do know is, its pretty much like posting a web page link, but instead you post a link to a folder with the pic you want , i use a disc so its all backed up, but same principle

That is exactly how you do it - play around with hyperlinks. In Excel, they are under the Insert menu.
