Pingu
You wouldn't be getting far I agree Sean, Small lanes, cattlegrids etc, I reckon with the amount of power it has it'll just push its way through :D = new widened roads for devon
Phil P
Tends to be the same in Aberdeenshire 6 furrows is about as big as you will see. Some of the really big farms like Hatton, Chapel of Seggat, Auchmacoy have removed fences and dykes on the worst roads but its still awkward when you have 90 degree corners on 3 metre lanes going straight into a bridge. \
Pingu
As most fields around here are near A or B roads you can easily handle most size of kit the average size plough round here is proberl 6/7 furrow easily with largest being a 14 furrow KV plough
Tractorman810
its not so much the a/b roads mff,its more the smaller roads to the fields, most fields down here are fed by very narrow lanes or you have to drive through about 5 other fields to get to them, plus most are on steepish hills ect,,theres not many big open east anglia / fens fields arround down this way.more small interlocked banked in ones
Pingu
True sean but what i meant is that most of our fields round her have a good road road access that can take large machinery there's the odd road but you can still fit a Fendt 930 down them so not to small and most fields here are near flat with odd hilly one the lands not flat but alot flatter than yours
Tractorman810
yeah if we have a field thats less than 1 in 5 we build on it :D ,no a very different way of farming down this way,lot smaller machinery arround and a lot less space in the fields, intrestingly i saw a framer putting a hedgerow/bank back into a field the other day, apparentlly they get grants for that now?? Pingu
Yer i think they do for putting them back. It's very different even between here and wiltshire it's surprising
MODELFARMER
We not allowed to touch hedges, but if we do benn known to say no there was never a hedge there, just a fenceand we took down the fence,HONEST!!! :D
