844john
Very, very nice Paul, the older gear just has more character I think, but if you have to sit on a tractor for 12 hours a day you can't beat the new ones....or maybe I'm just getting soft! Paul Palmer
very true John,no not going soft,as you say,i think 12 -14 hours in an old un will take some sticking
844john
A lot of it comes down to nostalgia for the tractors that were new when we were younger I think. A couple of years ago I spent a morning leading topsoil with a Ford 7810, it was great fun to start with but by dinner time it was starting to loose its appeal a little. Due to problems with its trailer I then spent the next day and a half leading with a New Holland 7050 and I have to admit that even after a long day you got out and didn't feel tired. I still prefer the older kit, but just for shorter blasts!
Paul Palmer
thats it John, nostalgia can be what you had around you as a kid, what you first drove, what you had where you worked, but i know what i would prefer to be in for a working week, and thats new kit im afraid
