My Diorama

After a busy week, Ross agri parked all the machinery in the yard and locked the gate until Monday morning.  Case is hooked up to the low loader as it'll be away first thing on Monday to get a new tanker. With all the equipment in the yard at the same time, and more to come in the near future,  the boss man thinks it's about time they thought about expanding their yard.

Got a call this afternoon from the police who were giving out about the condition we left the road in. So we got the 416 out with the bucket and did a bit of cleaning up. It had to be done by this evening or we'd be fined.

I really had to do that last year ,its a long story but had about 4tons of lime x to clean up we finished about 3am after clearing what we could with a bucket then at 6.30am two really good neighbour's came out with bucket-brushes and swept a bit more for me , we got away with it as we reported the incident to the police and said we are dealing with it , if someone had reported it before I did we would have been in trouble

Sounds like a bit of a job alright.  You must have been doing something strange to have 4 ton of lime on the road:unsure:

I would have used a brush only I don't have one, I'm looking out for a siku brush, I'm not keen on the Britain's nc one. Or i might see about making my own.

Flat out at the slurry again today. Got a call from the NC dealers saying the tanker wasn't in yet, should be in tomorrow. T6 was away at the fertiliser again and the rest of the lads finished picking stones. As the case wasn't collecting the tanker, they decided to load up the tracked machine and go level out a bit of fine topsoil from a site at the field they're preparing for spuds.

Neighbours are at their own fertiliser too.

And the builder stopped by with the farmers on his way home to discuss putting up a bit of a new shed/extension. It would be going just inside the farm entrance.

The poor farmer from up the road came to move his sheep in for lambing in his trusty 595 and trailer.

Tanker arrived in today (thanks to jack at school) so they weren't hanging around in getting it picked up and putting out the first few loads with it. Business as usual with the T6 and the T7 is away drawing beet for friends of ours.

Last few days this week have been busy enough here at Ross agri. Flat out with the slurry, today at the neighbours fields. Fastrac is drawing beet and the T6 was doing a bit of discing until the front axle started giving bother. So they called out the local New Holland men, excellent service as always. They've been working on the tractor all day today an dc some of yesterday,  it seems to be a fairly big problem. But we hope to have it ready for a bit of work on Monday, it might have to go to their yard tomorrow for some parts.

Started work on my silage pit today.  Got the timber cut and screwed back into place. Now I'm working at sanding the rough edges and I'm going to get some filler for the gaps.

Then the plan is to spray paint the grey bits then add the steelwork and then add some marks where the silage was and possibly add some more tyre marks.

Bit more done now,  the paint doesn't finish well on the cut edge of the MDF so I'll have to cover it in filler which finishes well. Some areas were already filled and it works fine so I'll do that later once this has dried. The original layer of paint was applied thick with a brush so there will be a few brush strokes in it but they won't be that noticeable.  The paint finish on the filler looks fairly realistic like concrete.

Looks good, the grey concrete colour is spot on.

Very nice Nathan, I agree with Wayne, the concrete grey is just right :)

Thanks lads. It's really the first time I've managed to get it right, any other sheds I've made the concrete grey has been too blue or dark in colour. Saw the can of spray for €9 so I thought I'd get it.

Started on the safety rail. I originally was going to put up steels with a bar along the top but I realised that would be for concrete panels and as this is shuttered I just need a rail along the top. I'm making it with matchsticks and hot glue, and drilling a hole into the shuttering for the stick to fit into. Will galvanise it when done.

nice shade to that  very similar to the base coat i use for the yard floor , there is a supposedly concrete look spray paint for sale in diy stores but i have never seen it, few people on here have used it .

I've seen some of those concrete effect sprays in shops. They're nearly twice the price but I suppose they do look well.

A while back I had some cement left over from a kerbing job. Managed to put some shuttering up to make this; 15497071378821239692172.thumb.jpg.db26676e50f1bbb8cae5345fa4ed0131.jpg

Might be a route I go down for sheds,  etc, but it needs to be about 15mm deep or else it'll crack.

Got the railings done, had to do a fair bit of masking off for them as they are done silver. The clumsy farmer's already bent one of the bars:angry:

Done a effluent channel that I almost forgot about,  just cut two lines into the floor and drilled a hole at each end.

Will be starting on tyre marks now as well as silage on the walls and floor.
