CCF
After much waiting, we finally were able to cut some of the hay at the new field. The weather was not great for hay cutting, but Cider Hill managed to get by with it. First up, the John Deere 4995 cut the the hay and neatly created windrows from the cut hay. CCF
As the driver was about to start the fourth row, he heard a loud clap of thunder from outside. He quickly finished the fourth row, and headed back to the farm. As some of the hay cutting had been done earlier in the week, the field was finished being cut, for the time being. CCF
Two days later after the hay had dried, Cider Hill Farms came back with their John Deere pull behind forage harvester that was acquired back in March. We picked up about half of the field with the forage harvester. As we could only fit the forage harvester on the trailer, we had to borrow a tractor from another farm. Cherry Hill Farm was kind enough to lend us their Massey Ferguson 98, a real brute of a tractor. The tractor handled the forage harvester like it was not even there.
