Tractorman810
Much damage from the mice then Garrett or just mess, must have been like a mouse palace for them
0025
I had a similar problem a few years ago a good trap and a cat are recommended!
COWBOY
Great to have you back Garrett, glad to see you haven't lost the touch in doing excellent dioramas
smallclaas
Nah not damage really just rooting around in the silage pit and herding cattle around the place, they did a great job on messing it up like a real yard
Wayne D
Ah that's annoying, I had the same problem a few years back as well. For some reason they seemed to find certain plastic parts tasty, like the Britain's round bails and the centre wheel stud on some models. ha ha As said, a trap or two will sort them. I,m lucky enough to have started my layout raised up off the floor, so that should stop it happening again.
smallclaas
Did a bit of planting along the edge of one of the fields. Better get a bit of sheep wire up now
smallclaas
Got the plantation fenced in should keep the cattle and sheep at bay☺ wonder what forestry grants are like these days
smallclaas
There's always one though
smallclaas
This is how this part of the layout is developing with the plantation to the side and a few more fields to do. I put in a cattle underpass and road in a few years back, but now in hindsight I might rip the road and underpass out as they look a bit akward
Jdeere6910
Looks brilliant does that Garret, especially the contoured fields. Can you walk across the layout to get to the sheds or can you get down the side?
smallclaas
You can walk over the layout I built it up using chip board flooring and sheets of polystyrene to make the contours it a long narrow and very low attic I have so space is confined
smallclaas
This is the cattle underpass I'm thinking about ripping out still not sure
Stabliofarmer
That overall shot is fantastic, looks so realistic as far as the geographical part and sheds go. Love it! I'd keep the underpass, something really unique
COWBOY
Underpass looks great,
Tractorman810
So how long is the layout then Garrett ?? Looks a good few meters from one of those pics, and keep the underpass, there's plenty around like that down Cornwall and north Devon way ,and it's different as well
smallclaas
Looking at it a few minutes ago it looks like a lot of ripping might be needed to get it out. So it might be staying i'll get some trees and foliage around it to see how it looks. The layout is about 16 metres in length by 3 wide never really measured it, think if i did I'd just get sense and stop going! ;-)
smallclaas
One change on the layout made this evening, the original site of the Dairy unit has been changed. I moved it with some collateral damage caused but nothing to significant :-) I moved it right to the very upper limit of the layout where it fits in better and I've freed up some valuable space for future development. The whole dairy end will follow shortly and hopefully leave it less cluttered. First 2 pics shows it in it's original location and last 2 show the space its free up. i'd say it's about 4 acres in 1/32 land ;-)
smallclaas
Freed up space! Now what to do with it?
Tractorman810
That's not space Garrett it's a whole new layout that's as much room fre as I have in fields in total you lucky lad , oh for more room like that
smallclaas
Ah photo is a bit misleading
smallclaas
Well took a bit of digging through polystyrene hills but got the dairy unit fitted to it's new location. At least it was easier to cut out the hole for the operators pit in the poly. There lots of space left to place the other sheds, just to hover up the poly beads now
