steady on there boys !

I may well try my hand at something very simple sometime... I am wrestling with myself at the moment as I always do things at full speed ahead... I think it's the industry I'm in?
I really am trying to sit back, relax and enjoy this hobby and force myself not to try to do too much too soon.? One half of me is in a busting hurry to see some results and the other half is saying take you time - work slowly and enjoy yourself.? Sorry if I'm boring you but it helps me get things in perspective if I type it on here...
Now doctor Udi can I get of the couch now?
Yes I can also relate to that Marky ,
I may be working on one tractor and suddenly I think of an idea for something else and then I'm off onto another .
In no time at all theres 3 tractors in bits !

Green flatbed and vicon mower aside these are my latest purchases. Trying to gather up a few of the oldies bit by bit for a few 'projects'.
Nice old models there Deere-est ,just the ones from my era .
-
Looks excellent Marky ,I reckon you will be building some MF 100 series conversions next !
-
well done TM thats a very tasty conversion .
-
well done Ricky ,excellent work
-
Yes that is excellent .I hate to think how many hours work would go into that .
-
Thanks for that ,how on earth did you find it ?
-
I've got a mint Matchbox 165 and the tyres are literally falling off the rims - the centres have shrunk or the tyres have stretched?
Yes Marky thats a very common problem

how much would it be worth with a replacement axle & or just as it is ?
Well its a more unusual version because its a late blue/orange one with the lugs for the Shawnee Poole dump trailer .
I haven't got one of this type and I would have given my friend ?40 for it as it was .
It is debatable for the value ,it depends how much someone is willing to pay for it .
I may pay more than someone else .Somebody else would throw a model like this away
-
yes .this one was a bit too far gone to just part restore ,but still a lot of ptential .
-
They look great, think i need educating on the vintage Dinky & Corgi models as i always thought they were not up to much, Britains is best and all that until the new UH/Siku era of course?
I think there is a lot of potential with the older corgi and dinky stuff .
They can be converted the same as anything else .
Just on a smaller scale .
-
Is it as good looking as your pics? is so sold to Udimore?
I will post up a picture a bit later
-
Think i may trip over a load of etrl bases at the weekend, i just have this feeling, will they be any good for you Steve if this event were to take place?
I will see what I can do
-
Crikey three colours, any idea when they were made, i need to get my grubby paws on one of those
I have a met red one with driver you can buy for ?17.00 .
Let me know if you are interested .
-
I'll try and find it out.
Any ideas for a dinky one? I've one of thse too minus cab, decals and exhaust.
I am not sure but you could make an Oliver from a 990 .
Without pictures to look at I am not sure .
-
You can do mine!
How bad is the 1412 ?
-
That 165 with the saw head was the coolest thing I had ever seen when I was a nipper! (circa 1970).
Are those cabbed 165s Corgis or Matchbox?
The cabbed 165s are Matchbox .They are very good but the tyres are a nightmare ,if you are lucky enough to find a tractor with tyres its great .If not you can fit corgi wheels .
-
It's the corgi I'm talking about, I have one that needs a few bits doing to it.... If I could get a cab for it I would go to the expense of having it done.
How about cutting off the mudgaurds ,changing the wheels adding a linkage to suit other stuff .
Follow that with a repaint in chocolate brown and orchid white ,make some new decals ,add some round Britains Ford 5000 Supermajor mudgaurds and make a 1200 .
Hang on a minute ,that was going to be a future project for me !!
-
Nice work Steve, theres a couple of old red fergies(ist pic front left) i've not seen before there are they all corgi?
Yes Barry ,they are Cori MF 65s but painted in the correct colours instead of red/cream .
I like them better in the proper colours .
-
Can you get the cabs??
No sorry Jason .
You are talking about the Corgi David Brown 1412 aren't you ?
\
I can get more bits for the Dinky David Brown 990 .
-
I was going to say around the 100 quid mark but unpainted DONT paint it.
My customer wants this restored .I can't argue with the customer ,the customer is king
I would have left it if it was mine though .
I will post up a picture later to show progress .

Thats a good idea with the transporter, impressive!
The tractors would look the biz with an old lorry from the same era .
