  1. Any news on new models from this so far...maybe news on the new Lexion model in 1/32?
  2. I think I'd have to go for: 1. Ford 7710 - absolute classic and love the fact that the whole scale of the machine is based on the size of a Britains rear wheel 2. Chafer sprayer 3. Fiat 880 with half tracks 4. Cambridge rolls - love the simplicity and the fact that they do sound a little bit like the real things when you use them 5. Ford FW-60 - iconic machine when I was a child and very pleased they released it - just wish I had bought the double wheeled version from Ertl as it looks even more impressive Most wanted: 1. Deutz dual wheels all round with bright orange hubs 2. A working powerfarm TW35 - it seemed revolutionary when I was a child even though it was in fact quite rubbish! 3. the old MF combine 4. Potato harvester - loved the way it all worked 5. Round bale sledge with the special pick up attachment Least wanted/impressed: The 'realistic engine sound' on the big MFs or more accurately, a small piece of clicking plastic on the rear axle - utterly rubbish, even as a child.

Anyone know when the NH T9 models are due into the UK?
  4. What is the Wiking model - I can't really tell?

How on earth did they get licences to use the names?
  6. Treading carefully here...but the general view expressed so far in this thread seems to have been pretty positive about all the recent Britains stuff with a good dollop of praise for new releases. In this trailer example - I think there's been universal praise of the prototype together with one or two minor tweaks / adjustments suggested - which as Andy points out is probably exactly what Craig and Britains want to help finalise before production (why else would they release pictures of it?) There are one or two more negative comments but my view is they are the exception rather than the rule and so can be blissfully ignored if we don't agree. To be honest, based on the quality of my MF and what I hear of the Case/IH models I'm guessing that the model manufacturers are the ones who will be starting to worry. At 13.99 for the MF, that's a great price and means you can have 2-3 x more items in the collection for the same money and a quality that isnt much below what the model MFRs are doing. I for one am hoping the Ertl NH T8.360 is up to the same standard as this. (Andy - any pictures of this prototype to feed back on?)
  7. Re: superior quality of model - the original discussion was around plastic colour quality. I would expect that the majority of the extra cost of year models is down to: 1. The detail and finess of the model features requiring extra time and investment in the design and prototype development 2. Thinner materials requiring higher tolerances during manufacture (and hence more advanced manufacturing equipment) to ensure accuracy and quality 3. Nos of component parts - the models generally have many more - pipework, moving ladders, signs , mud guards, tipping mechanism 4. Cost of assembly - more, finer and more intricate parts will take longer to assemble and then paint (where needed) and hence more labour I'd guess that the cost of improving the quality of paint plastic would only be a small % of what drives the cost differential (plus profit margins of course). Re: tips to improve the prototype - sounds like a great idea to me.
  8. I think you're becoming mildly obsessed by that Samson. I'd suggest a lie down and a strong cup of tea.

Is that a 70 series badged as a TM?
  10. I think parts of the new Massey are plastic and the red on them seems pretty glossy (rear wheels arches?) so hopefully this will continue. What's the plastic pieces like on the new IH and Case models?
  11. I like the detailed models myself but I'm glad that Siku is still there making toys that do stuff for my kids to play with as they don't care about accurate cab roofs and coulter nos being correct. The Horsch chaser bin with working auger being a great example of this and hopefully they will continue to innovate with the RC toys (which will hopefully get a bit cheaper as volumes increase)!
  12. Are UH trailers typically painted or coloured plastic? The Britains plastic always seems a bit washed out to me.
  13. Perhaps Atte means that the front axle doesn't move - i.e. it will always be in the up position (as opposed to moveable)...whether it's intentional or a geometry error is up for debate....
  14. Is it possible to download the catalogue from anywhere?
  15. Who's Graham and where would I find his sheds?
  16. Isn't it the Challenger square baler?
  17. The samson seems to have it's front wheels off te ground - wonder if the geometry is a bit out on the hitch? I thought the T8 would be a myth - it's not German made for a start. Let's hope the Siku or Ertl versions are half decent...although I'm not holding my breath based on track record. It's a shame all the new NH stuff is being made by the toy rather than model makers (G240 excepted).
  18. What show were all the pictures taken at Atte? Also any insight as to whether the Wiking NH T8 rumours are true?
  19. Many of the FW60s never had mirrors fitted - although I think UK spec machines had to by law - but the model isn't necessarily wrong without them.

Based on the fact that pretty much every New Holland model released to date from the two colour era (blue and brown) has been available in both liveries I'd be very surprised if Ros don't release both the G240 and 8970 together (Ertl did both, Britains did both of the M/60 series i think as did Replicagri this year). And I'm guessing that whoever granted the Replicagri licences will be the same as whoever has granted them to Ros.
  21. With all the recent announcements it feels like this needs an update so... Schuco: - the big Deutz and the IH 1455 Replicagri: - the 4f plough and the rolls Ros: - the G240, the Beet harvester and the small drill Siku: - NH T8.390 Britains - NH T9, Kane trailer and the IH 956 Not so much of interest from Wiking or UH that stands out in the mind

I'm losing track - there have been so many good model releases announced over the last few days. I feel a little sorry for IH fans - you're guaranteed to be broke this year!

The G240 (and hence hopefully 8970) looks good. I'll be leaving my half finished conversion of the old Ertl model on the table for a while now then and onto something else instead....whenever I start having a crack at a model, one of the Mfrs seems to bring one out a couple of months later....I better get started on a Ford 8210 and TW35 in that case as definitely want to add those to the collection!

    Réplicagri 2011

Plenty for the IH fans - the four furrow plough is a nice addition for the smaller 100hp tractors that have been out recently like the 7810 and the 3090
  25. If it's true then the Wiking New Holland T8 but as it didn't feature in their 2011 release list I suspect the rumour might be wrong....
