  1. I have 600+ of these...so just a small selection (stunning trip, with smashing people)
  2. The reason for 3 trips to the Lakes this year has been for training for a trip to the Stubai Alps, Austria in August - quite high level around te valley, staying in Mountain "Huttes"
  3. and I've never seen such a young one before...(quite cute really !)
  4. We found these charming chappies after a day out in the Dales, on the way to the pub ! (rgiht next to the A1079, opposite Pockington airfield)
  5. Newlands Valley is our favourite (this one from March) and Derwentwater is always scenic, even from the lower slopes of Catbells
  6. lakes again, but September, this time evening at Buttermere (didn't quite catch it right)
  7. Just a few views etc from this year (so far)..hope you enjoy the variety at least ! Starting with the Lake District in July..a view of Grasmere from Loughrigg Terrace then Buttermere and Crummock water from a wet Haystacks
  8. believe it or not it was fine on my regular run home, with plenty of action East of the A1.... Cat + power harrow & Class tracked tractor with valderstadt dril in one field 2 modern JD (7930's ?) with similar combination nearby JD 8**** with valderstadt later on new MF rolling and big Case drilling near the M18 junction MF6290 + power harrow in next field JD + potato harvester + MF & trailer JD 8*** with Simba disc set near Goole MF27 combine & TM with Marston trailer crossing the M62 near Gilberdyke Ancient IH & NH tractors at work also near there And a few more odds n sods. There's still a few bits of wheat left in the fields but i guess they are past bothering with now ?
  9. Well, I hope She That Shall Be Obeyed doesn't make any firm plans otherwise count me in (and it will be great to meet some FTF-ers !)
  10. While out for a run early on and a big JD (8220 ?) & powerharrow and a TM135 twin wheels & powerharrow. Later on taking the missus shopping in York, a big JD combining with NH tractors several JD's & MF's cultivating & sowing, JD7920 & arctic bale trailer A Class 480 combining (the remaining wheat looks more grey than golden by now) and a really ancient 60's style combine working near Market Weighton (faded dark orange colour) with IH tractor....pity we were rushing back it would have made an interesting "what's one of these ?" post !
  11. I did Beverely - York - Ripon area & return today with the folks and there were multitudes of tractors and quite a few Combines of all types at work, in particular a G-reg Class Terminator (?) pottering down a country lane....but no photos at all !
  12. on the way home this afternoon.... not a lot at work to the West of manchester (a couple of static combines by the A55 & M56) but next to the M62 at Goole, a Dominator & NH TX combining with supporting tractors n MF6475 on twin wheels all round and an older fastrac chasing each other round a small field with power harows An old NH combining near Gilberdyke JD7710 carting bales near Beverley plus various clouds of dust in the distance & behind hedges ! My regular run where I count the fields has now been cleared of cereals...so the recent dry couple of days have saved whats left of the harvest round here !
  13. Just off the M56 before the M6 junction there was a JD 7450WS () combining Then all the way to North Cave next to the M62 before the next action, a couple of Lexions at work Then a local Lexion and TX62 working nearer home, plus a TM155 ploughing. Still about 25% of the harvest to do round here so let's hope it stays fine !
  14. Drivers have stopped an asked what I've been up to before, suspicious that I maybe from the Council or Green activist or whatever, but are usually only too happy to chat and explain a bit of what they are doing when they find out I'm genuinely interested. This chap was just plain Grumpy (hope he's not a FTF-er !). Not a lot of change around here when I got back late today but a couple of local combines were working. I have some nice ones to put up from last year still (after a trip to the Lake District for the w/e)
  15. Thanks for the nice comments. Not up to the standard of last years though ! I reckon that in that last fine week they must have done a major chunk of the total harvest round here. I counted up the fields on the way to work on Monday morning and approx 25% still need to be harvested...and none of them had been done by Friday, and unlikely to be for another week yet after the rain we've had/still having !
  16. absolutely belting down here...
  17. Finally this JD and MF baler was working away at very high speed...
  18. in the next 2 fields were a NH TX66 and CR960 (both been on these pages before) but I culdn't get any decent angles on them...
  19. But the driver of this Class Dominator wasn't quite so happy and pulled over to have a word when i got into position...
  20. got a nice friendly wave from the driver as he left the field...
  21. Last Saturday I scived off for an hour ( a detour on the way home from Morrisons !) to see what was about....a Lexion and couple of tractors would have made brilliant shots if I could have stopped the car in traffic, but this Dominator was next...
  22. and another shot....then the last find that day was another big NH which had just finished a field (right next to the Westwood, which the locals will know) but this one is unusual as it is the first time I've seen a Deutz in this area
  23. Then there was a NH CX820 hard at work, which took a bit of a walk from a suitable place to park the car...
