  1. Thats Brilliant Gerd ! I especially like that you haven't filled every available bit of space with a machine
  2. 04-plate MF5455 & Chieftan dumper trailer near Holyhead MF4235 & an old trailer with hay bales on the A55 near Bangor MF6180-ish with Samson spreader, MF6499-ish ploughing next to the M56 near Chester JD 7920 sowing & 6620 cultivating next to the M62 near Goole Several new truck loads of JD's heading away from Hull docks and various other bits and bobs as well. Time to dig the camera out for the weekend !
  3. generally cleaning up, gardening, sorting the cars, shopping etc so that the missus could have a nice "do" for her Mum ....bah !!!!
  4. I haven't seen much action for ages (mostly Fendt & NH tractors amongst the heavy stuff involved in the M56/A55 Chester roadworks) but there were a couple of Deutz muck spreading today near Malton and an MF575 +loader with 3 ton trailer leading muck near Castle Howard
  5. After a couple of weeks of seeing sod-all, Sunday was a glorious day for Snowdrop-hunting with the family around the Yorkshire Wolds...unfortunately no chance to photograph the preparations for spring sowing:- JD7920 &6 furrow ploughing MTX110 & spreader + JCB teleporter handling the muck JD6600 & 5 furrow ploughing NH8240 & Easterby trailer shifting muck Another JCB teleporter moving straw etc. On the dash into work today the local contractor was hard at work with his MF6499 and 6-furrow (photographed several times in past years)
  6. I got sidetracked by a semi-flooded road today near Bridlington and found a derelict ancient Class combine...and that's all this weekend. Last week in Anglesey there were 3 telehandlers with bales of hay and straw and thats about all...very boring...
  7. He's back !!! Good to see you are still at work and hopefullly not put off by the weather !
  8. In the mid 60's we had a bus load of women from Scunthorpe to come down and pick in stints (approx 1 chain length per person) behind the Hoover, into boxes. This is the changing spell for potato farming:- just before they were riddling them and bagging in the field, then they started lifting directly by machine into the boxes (as they do now)
  9. thanks for that BluePower, something I've been afer for a while. I've just looked through it for measurements of their trailers to see if the Britains models really should be as large as they look behind an "average" tractor....will report later (my small, secret collection is hidden in the loft from she-that-shall-be-obeyed)
  10. Just a relatively quiet day in the office. Thankfully the heating was on, for the first hour anyhow.
  11. having just seen the UH model for the first time today (in York - the wife whisked me away before I started to drool and get me wallet out) it emphasises what a great job you have done with all the detail !
  12. I'll be in Anglesey, so no chance. I've never plucked up the nerve to wander round a dealers yard ! There was an Easterby Trailers event (near Driffield) in December, too, I noticed on their website.
  13. There's an adveret in my local rag for the Farmstar Ltd Open day, near Doncaster on Thursday 10th January. The full address is Grove farm, Church lane, Marr, Doncaster DN5 7AU / tel 01302 786786 and entry is free via the form on www.farmstar.co.uk. I've seen their equipment (large MF's, large Case's including a Quadtrack etc) working in various areas of the East Riding.
  14. B***y shopping in York (even the interesting shops weren't open !) Scarborough tommorrow, back to York Saturday.... what on earth have I done to deserve this ?
  15. While out for a freezing muddy x-country run came across an IH 885 and rotary spreader and an MF135 with buckrake in the yard I hadn't seen before - will take the camera next time I go that way again !
  16. that looks really good, simple but effective - dare I try it with mine ?
  17. An MF 6*** ploughing at 7:45 this morning in fog with lights on back and front - would have made a really atmospheric shot if I hadn't been zooming past in a queue to work !
  18. anybody got any welding gear ?
  19. Am I getting old or is the traffic getting worse ? 20 miles of tailbacks on the opposite side of the M60 (thankfully!) when I came back from Anglesey on Wednesday night. Even a small dink on the A63 created 3miles coming out of Hull tonight.
  20. I dashed back late last night from Anglesey to go Christmas shopping in York today (a wonderful day off for our wedding anniversary !)
  21. I'm catching up a bit with some older postes and this is really good and so varied! Goes to how how scruffy and unkempt the average farms are. Like Tris, you take care during the naff weather, Marcus !
  22. horizontal rain, +3degC here in East Yorks. Have been out for a run and put some outside lights up but I don't feel like going out again to put some more up !
  23. me and the missus borrowed our friends kids and took them to the Museum of Film and Photography in Bradford....mainly to see the "Polar Express" on the IMAX in 3D - brilliant - I was the biggest kid of the lot ! A bit of a slog down a busy M62 in the p*****g rain though (and back that way tommorrow to work in Anglesey)
  24. it's 50:50...there was an International B275 in there, to. The owner had just died and they were about to be collected by a dealer (this was early last year on the N.Yorks Moors)
