  1. Spoke to a dealer today while i was in there who specialises in the older stuff, he says that as its not a series II, but an original one it would probably be worth ?2-2500 tops, not as desirable as the later ones unfortunately

  2. The other thing to check is the fluted rollers and flap that meter the seed - they are vunerable to mice.

I've seen a lot of drills where the mice run up the pipe and chew a hole through the flap and roller so they can nest in the hopper.

    hope this helps :)

I can vouch for that, we had rats get into our 4m Sulky box drill over winter, they've eaten every single seed roller out of the drill  :o :o >:(

  3. 2wd - would it be better sold through classic tractor for example?

Definately worth a try and better off sold privately as it is worthless to most dealers, could also try Farmers Guide if you get it  ;):)

  4. Is the draw bar fixed or does it raise and lower??

From memory i think it is sort of fixed but has some sort of top link or weight transfer system built into it, will check at the first chance if no one else can verify this :);)

  5. They are cut by combine around here too, they go for feed as far as I know...... some beans are swathed when green and then harvested directly after by machines such as the ploeger using its normal header.

Yeah that is right, dried beans are heavy as well, i burnt out the unloading auger belt on our Lexion with a full tank on them. Swathed ones would be the Broad Beans, i love combining the things though, so easy and you can go like hell with them  ;D:D :D

  6. Swath them and then pick them up with a combine is it. ???

Neighbour's had these last year but the field was 10 miles away so didn't see them.

All I do know is that my other neighbour was delighted as he got a full day out of it bringing them to the processing plant with a DX 6.61.  ;D ;D

You can direct cut fields beans with a combine but only when they are dead and at the ball bearing stage of seed hardness, these ones tend to go for protein feeds. The vining ones are cut green and go off for human consumption as Broad Beans

  7. Sorry Gavin.. it was me on my way to Maccy D's... heard they were running out of Mc Flurry... so I was in a Mc Hurry  :D :D :D :D

How clever is that post... not only did I incorporate two post subjects in one but I got a funny... topical rhyme in at the end as well  ;D

Very clever indeed, does that mean that you now drive a chavved up white MR2 then that nearly got the Defender bullbar treatment  ;D:D :D ;)
