  1. Exactly, it wouldn't of been too bad as I know all the silage chaps, but still when your trying to get on fixing something the last thing I would want is someone talking to me or taking pics :-\ :-\ :-\

No not fair even if they're friends is it, they want to get on and feel obliged to talk to you. I only do it if its one man and he looks in need of a hand-my Landies a mobile workshop  :D :D :D;)

I'm one of those pains in the asss always taking photo's  :D :D :D never when broken down though as i know they just would want to get on with and not have someone annoying watching them :D :D

Blimey so you finally admit that you're annoying then! Lads its a first!  ;D:D :D :D::);)

  2. I'm a busy chap ::) ::)

Nah don't like doing it to be honest, purely because I don't like it when people watch me and come in the fields I'm working in and start following me round, looking, pointing etc. I start making silly mistakes :-\ :-\ :-[:D

I'm exactly the same as well, especially if the chaps in question are broken down, the last thing they want is someone with a camera standing there with them.

    Nice pics Nath  :);)

  3. A bit more than I thought...... ?1700  :'( :'( :'( :'(

I was right with my diagnosis anyway, well half right.... two pistons had broken up, they also damaged the cylinder head, bores and turbo....  >:( >:(>:( >:(

Not very impressed with it to be honest, 4 years old with 56k on the clock isn't very good for a diesel at all..... nearly as bad as the Range Rover I used to run!

Sounds like your L200 and my Defender are a good pair then, mine is 10 years old and had done 88k and was p!ssing oil out of any seals it could. Just had a ?1200 rebuild (rebore, rings, main shells, injectors, crank seals, head bolts, stem seals) without the clutch and speedo that went afterwards

  4. Well mines a 2A so don't need a speedo, it has one speed foot to the floor ;D ;D ;D

Have just replaced rear diff and welded up axle case after it destroyed itself. not long ago put a recon gearbox in and lots of other little bits! Another long list  >:( >:(

    Still enjoy driving it though

    Thats true i guess  :D :D

Mines a 1996 Defender 90 which has only done 88000 miles so not too happy about all what i've just had done to it  >:(

  5. Nice pics Ben......Oli will like them...... :) :)

I didn't know we used that sort of irrigation system over here, I thought most folk used drums...... :)

We have several of them in this area Martin, nice big open fields in the area here, our neighbour has one at work but it's never close enough to us to get any pictures. Saves alot of time considering the number of times you'd have to move a reel/gun set up to cover that area.

  6. ......and she'll be looking all bonny again...... :) :)

Yeah, have to try and sort  out the rust in the inside bottom edge of the doors as well as there's no money in the kitty to change her for a while yet. The 8560 needs to go asap before it goes bang :-\

  7. That's a chap, look after the old girl...... ;) ;)

We try to, as its been to wet to get on i hoovered the cab out and polished it inside yesterday. Had a transmission oil change last week, putting in 70 litres 5 at a time is no fun! When i get a chance she'll be washed down, polished and have the paintwork touched up on the front again  :);)

  8. now all about that ,dads test driving tomorrow marky at least it can keep up wiyt a combine

It was only an MF 865 as well. Don't know if it was a common fault, can't remember which gears it was between, quite a costly one to fix though from memory

  9. :D :D :D :D Nice one Gavvy babes  :D :D :D;)

I used to drive an 8630 that used to do it, not good when you are driving alongside an unloading combine at the time as it only resets when you stop and start the tractor  :D :D ;)

  10. marky i,m about to buy a ford 8730 so if you are nasty about FORDS i will come and park it outside your front door

Hope you've got one without the gearbox fault! Gets annoying when it suddenly stops dead for no reason when you change gear :D :D ;)
