  4. Hi Jez, Is it a semi permanent set up, seem to recall seeing pics of it on the Dutch forum last year. America has the museum and factory outlet cluster at Dyersville, there is that on the continent, where is the Britains archive ?? It is appalling that we do not have some kind of model farming reference both for cultural and historical reasons. Lottery Grant??
  5. Nokian TRI 2's are the db's for road and forestry and industrial use. Widely used in Scandinavia for for road work on ice & gravel roads. Mark Golding has a couple of machines on them, last forever on road reclamation work.
  6. Will have to get a set of Nokian TRI 2's next - far better for roadwork.

  11. Fiat have already announced the spin off of the CNH Ag & Construction, Iveco Trucks and Cursor Diesel into Fiat Industrial Group, still 100% owned but separates the heavy end of the business from the cars. http://uk.reuters.com/article/idUKLDE66K05020100721 Sharp eyed readers will have noticed the 'Fiat Group' grey square logo appearing on some CNH adverst in the professional press.
  12. Balfour Beatty have a strict Buy British policy providing there is a UK supplier or UK based if foreign owned manufacturer, if nothing is available they then buy what is best for the job. The McCormicks were orignally chosen because of the good relationship with Burgess, and, the construction of the tractors. BBPNL had 4 Case MX's, and had found that the cast chassis was suitable and able to withstand the repeated stresses of winching tractors, the frame dissapating the stress to the ground anchors and not stressing the engine / TX of a unit construction tractor. (They have perhaps another 30 winching tractors of different makes so have years of experience.) Hence the order for the McCormicks, which was added to in following years. With the McCormick plant going overseas it was an open choice. The JD's have a steel chassis as opposed to the McCormick's cast one, but in principal it will serve the same purpose.
  13. Markie falls foul of the local lodge... Stranded tractor is the result http://www.snotr.com/video/1776
  14. Yes it is probably a brandless mule for mounting the implements. Loader manufacturers do the same in 1:1 scale!
  15. Hopefully something will come next year, can't say yet but we are working on a project which if all goes well will see one.. Somethings take months, even years, to bring to fruition.
  16. Vulcan, was OK, great plane as was the Victor. But we could have done better, far, far better - I was lucky to see this as a kid - Dad was working for building contractors on Salisbury Plain and would be taken up to work on test flight days. There was nothing like it - it didn't fly, it tore the sky apart. The first tme I heard and saw it it scared me to death and to tears - once you knew it you then loved it. A privilege now I realise.
