  1. Have a look at this month's Profi! Looks like time to bring back the Fendt Agrobil....
  2. For history and info..... http://www.aardvarkequipment.co.uk/Art.Dump%20Trucks/Transters/self%20propelled%20gravel%20cart.htm
  3. A lot os semi trailers are built of higher tensile steel that allows it to flex and give - an excellent demonstration. A lot of scrap / condemned US kit used to find its way to the Philippines - roadside shanties and sheds as services stations. Over six months once saw a couple of guys 'rebuild' a rusted out Freuhauf trailer. Supported it on pallets, cut it out section by section, (One piece formed channels with hex lightening holes) replaces it with half inch MS. Broke first day.... Excess of material over design and no stress flow.
  4. Would either take a gamble or hold back... If you book it may be a gamble and a free weekend in Spalding or you write it off as a loss. Remember that is Easter weekend and the show sometimes gets moved because of it - hall used for other events.
  5. A Contractors Calender..... The Full Conty...
  6. Young Farmers pose naked for a charity calender Despite initial worries, the final 11 girls met at Hayley's farm in Roborough on Sunday July 5 and were snapped in a variety of poses. Miss June, Georgie Harris of Winkleigh YFC, said: "The day of the shoot was most amusing – especially when the local churchgoers of Roborough turned up for a service and got a good eyeful of me posing for my photo." Miss September, Jenny Ashton of Shebbear YFC, said: "I was slightly nervous but after the first photo, I was well up for it. "The only down side of the day was being pooed on by the cow I was standing with! "It was extremely funny but I had to be cleaned off while standing naked in a parlour." Organiser Hayley said: "Both my grandads and my auntie died of cancer so my main motivation for doing this calendar is for them. "We hope to raise more than £2,000 from sales of the calendar, all of which will go to Cancer Research UK." You can pick up a copy of the calendar at the New Inn at Roborough, or by e-mailing Hayley at hayleyc_rox@hotmail.co.uk
  7. Nothing of substance, ie proper pictures of the 7230 Fastrac Model as opposed to the real machine, likewise the Farmmaster. Revised 'New' logos on the NH 7060, FW 60 and one or two others that have finally caught up with th program.
  8. Latest issue of the cataloge shows no new Massey....

  10. I think what we are seeing , and Claas is anticipating, is a polarisation of combine classes. yes, a smaller operation could, in theory, buy a bigger, second hand machine, but, where in the future are those machines going to come from?? A 600 acre unit would never want the logistical nightmare of chasing and maintaining Lexy 600 - just wouldn't stack up. Combines sales have got fewer in number as size has increased. An Axial Flow 16660 of an NH 8070 will go on for a long time , but there are very few machines of this size made today. Combines have got bigger either for large farms or contractors machines. Also consider we have a maritime climate - harvest season is never guaranteed and often catchy hence we need high capacity machines to operate in short windows often in marginal conditions. East europe. SA / india have continental conditions - they can thus use lower capacity machines with cheaper labour over several days. Claas have plants in Russia, India etc and can build to serve the smaller units in that area, and, possibly supply Eastern Europe and S America with a simple machine at a reasonable price. All of the parts are proven, as is the tooling - it is a very clever redesign.
  11. Claas are not stupid, In Eastern Europe, South America labour is cheap and still demand for smaller units where many older units are now becoming time expired. These have updated Senator / Dominator internals with APS, Govion is the Eastern Euro name, Elnino is SA designation.
  12. I am sure tris will recognise this...
  13. Old trick for cheap air brushes - use an old inner tube as an air reservoir - cheap and a good way to start.
  14. The real ones also colour shift depending on the light..
  15. Gotta be Alice Clambler, well known country & western star!
  16. Not uncommon on Salisbury Plain....
  17. If Marky was a real man he'd overnight and do the Heddington & Stockley Rally on the Sunday... http://www.heddingtonandstockley.co.uk/steamrally/index.html Lots of local metal... might even buy him a Sherbert Fizz..
  18. Now first cut is finished, a little survey. Although contractors are more prevelant, many farms and machinery rings still fill and roll their own clamps. Filling and rolling the clamps usually go to the same hands year after year - but, what is the tool of choice out there??
