  1. Whilst im still waiting for parts for my Puma 240, I have moved ahead with my third CASE rebuild this time it will be a Maxxum 150. I stripped it down and resprayed CASE red, adusted the floor pan to tilt the cab forwards and switched the wheels and tyres with a Vestrum 130. I will post it all up properly on the tractor conversions when I finish it next weekend.
  2. Another CASE Puma on the go. This time it will be a 240. I was never to keen on the UH long wheelbase Pumas as the bonnet wasnt great and the cab frame is iffy too. Ive made others in the past using a Britains Puma bonnet and the 240s chassis and cab and respraying the red tinwork. So this time to really get it right Im using the more accurate cab and fenders off of the 175 model and extending its chassis too house the Britains bonnet. That should be the best of both worlds, Ive already sprayed the red parts with real CASE paint and decals are on the way.
  3. Its turned out well Paul, and a nice touch with the removable wheel weights...................my problem with the entire Univrsal Hobbies MF7600-7700 UH models is the middle cab post looks too wide! This is because UH in their wisdom decided to detail black etching all around the edge of the cabs glass, spoiled the look of the model for me. However the S style bonnet is very nice
  4. Yes Hugh, its such a shame UH didnt make a pucker 7718 imo.
  5. Nice effort, I did something similar with my initial 6480 convo when I used a 7499 cab and fenders as the donor tractor. What I realized is that the bigger tractor fenders are designed to house R42 wheels and tyres whereas the short wheelbase 7480 for example has fenders that curve down tighter as they are designed for R38s. Therefore they dont look right on the smaller short wheelbase machines. In other words my second 6480 where I used a cab and rear fenders off of a 5480 looked far better. Unfortunately UH didnt replace their 6475 with a short wheelbase 7618/ 7718. I think maybe the 5613 might offer better fenders than the 7726 but not sure if the 56 cab works. Picture below shows the difference.
  6. Ive been meaning to do this convo for a while, Ive stripped down my old Puma 175cvx and resprayed it in official CASE red. I got fed up looking at UHs obviously wrong colour red!! Ive also filed down the bonnet plaque that inexplicably got designed in on the UH original. I left the original front wheels and tyres on it but used the rear wheels from a CASE Vestrum and tyres from an Claas Axion 550. I also put a 1mm packer under the cab platform to lift the rear fenders clear of the tyre and allow the cab too tilt forward a bit further. I have new style decals on order, should be here soon.
  7. We have Wilson Farmings new Krone 1180 in the village tonight with a fleet of new CASE Pumas, took a few pics before bad light stopped play, will post up a dedicated maize thread soon as ive got lots of pics.
  8. Hermes favourite trick is saying a parcel has been delivered when it clearly hasnt been!! Usually it turns up a couple of days later. My guess is the driver wants to hit his daily target and therefore claims the delivery, but then leaves the package on board until he has a few more parcels to be delivered in my village to make the trip worth his while. This scenario has happened many times.
  9. I passed a small farm today which consists of one barn sitting on about 2 acres of land. That is all the land the guy owns. But in his barn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All hardly used........... TIM SP sugar beet harvester, a Sampo combine (which didnt cut his 2 acre wheat field this year an 18 ton Kane trailer and a 5 yr old Fastrac 4160 with about 50 hours no doubt, a Kubota something or other and sat outside on proud display...........drum roll please.......................................................A brand new Black line MF 5713S which will probably never clock 100 hours
  10. I agree with Sean, its quite easy to just upgrade the Ford Force 1 to the Force 2s so maybe just FORD TW Series 2 super Qs.
  11. Its kind of strange that theres been no Ford 4000 as I recall they must have been the number one selling tractor on UK farms back in the mid 70s. I remember the farm nearest me as a small boy had three of them and one 7000. In fact I dont remember seeing any 5000s, they were mostly all 4000s back in the day in west suffolk.
  12. Very nice models, takes me back to the mid 70s when as a small boy I lived next door to a stud farm. They had one tractor , a newish cabbed Ford 3000 and every so often I would get taken for a ride in it by the farms manager
