  1. Obviously first task is new front tyres, stop the diesel leak, get all the lights to work and take it on a road run!
  2. Well I'd have been longing after new ones, rather than chasing ancient ones on eBay! ๐Ÿ˜ I think though that changes would have had to have been made years before the bankruptcy and buyout. Dad was scathing about having some of the models built via Indian intermediaries, as he said those firms were then able to build tractors which competed directly with IH offerings in other parts of the world. I've no idea how much truth there is to this though.
  3. That's a shame, and of course it's a housing estate now. I have a memory of dad taking me in to show his colleagues his new son, but I'd have been less than 3 so it's a bit fuzzy! I do also remember drawing on ih branded paper for years as a child, dad must have brought a load home at some point for work, but then lost his job.
  4. No problem, he was a design engineer with them in the late 70s until the early 80s. Initially he was working on backhoes, then got transferred to working on the tractors.
  5. Again, awesome work! Good to see an 84 series, another one Dad had (re)design input on.
  6. So much IH goodness! Quality work there.
  7. Went to the Newport show, had the dog on her lead so taking photos was a bit difficult. Did get these though.
  8. Nice bit of kit, all the advantages of a round baler, without the huge bales
  9. Could you try the tooth paste polishing technique to take out the scratches in the glass?
  10. Between interviews, put this together. Planning to paint it an orange colour. It's close to the one my wife's uncle has, but not exact. I'll take close enough.
  11. Thanks, hopefully once the money starts coming in again I can get the cab fixed up and get the glazing back in, along with a metal roof. The canvas one holds water and chucks it in your lap when you start without the windscreen.
  12. Just had my trusty steed delivered to the new place. If only I hadn't lost my job on the day we moved I might have some money to buy the bits I need for the lights and a new exhaust.
  13. Slightly more exciting than what Dad got for 40 years of IH in Donnie๐Ÿ˜
  14. Might work, give talcuum powder a try too. It'll was off if it doesn't have the desired effect.
  15. Heading off to Cambers shortly to try and finally get some connectors for the outside taps. Think they are old imperial threads about 1 1/4" in diameter so no hozelock works with them. Going to have to make up adapters but so far the only connectors that fit are for 25mm hoses.
  16. It's oils coming out of the rubber. There are some sprays that work to stop this on softer rubber like latex, but not sure for harder compounds.
  17. That's awesome! Just been looking at photos of the real things (we need something to manage the stream here). Boy did the cabs on those rot badly.
  18. Camera seems to have gone into an odd mode - but some pics from the windrowing and baling today on a few of our fields. But first off, dog vs bale! My wife's dog didn't know what to make of these big black, round interlopers in his field! Camera
  19. Our neighbour cutting the top paddocks today.
  20. They have been silaging the big field next to one of ours, so shuttling up the lane and back were an MF and Valtra with the wagons and a Class Jaguar doing the cutting. No photos and didn't see which models they were. If they come back this week, I'll lean out of the window and get a photo ๐Ÿ˜
