Well I'd have been longing after new ones, rather than chasing ancient ones on eBay! ๐ I think though that changes would have had to have been made years before the bankruptcy and buyout. Dad was scathing about having some of the models built via Indian intermediaries, as he said those firms were then able to build tractors which competed directly with IH offerings in other parts of the world. I've no idea how much truth there is to this though.

That's a shame, and of course it's a housing estate now. I have a memory of dad taking me in to show his colleagues his new son, but I'd have been less than 3 so it's a bit fuzzy! I do also remember drawing on ih branded paper for years as a child, dad must have brought a load home at some point for work, but then lost his job.

No problem, he was a design engineer with them in the late 70s until the early 80s. Initially he was working on backhoes, then got transferred to working on the tractors.

Again, awesome work! Good to see an 84 series, another one Dad had (re)design input on.

So much IH goodness! Quality work there.

Between interviews, put this together. Planning to paint it an orange colour. It's close to the one my wife's uncle has, but not exact. I'll take close enough. -

Might work, give talcuum powder a try too. It'll was off if it doesn't have the desired effect.

It's oils coming out of the rubber. There are some sprays that work to stop this on softer rubber like latex, but not sure for harder compounds.

That's awesome! Just been looking at photos of the real things (we need something to manage the stream here). Boy did the cabs on those rot badly.

Camera seems to have gone into an odd mode - but some pics from the windrowing and baling today on a few of our fields. But first off, dog vs bale! My wife's dog didn't know what to make of these big black, round interlopers in his field! Camera

They have been silaging the big field next to one of ours, so shuttling up the lane and back were an MF and Valtra with the wagons and a Class Jaguar doing the cutting. No photos and didn't see which models they were. If they come back this week, I'll lean out of the window and get a photo ๐
