  4. Hi Got the lonestar marrshal for my DB1690 conversion today and after closely inspecting it im puzzeled to how you dissmantle them??
  5. Why didnt ya drive the deere home?? broke down?
  6. You done a great job on that Massey she does look like new!
  7. Ya would be stupid to pay that sort of money for that! but it makes me wonder what one of the orignal silver jubile 7810 models (which came with a new 7810) would make??
  8. Yes a very nice straight orignal machine! what is the braket on the front for? is it to do with a loader?? are you going to give her new shoes?? hope ya get on well with it!
  9. i hope it will turn out good as ive been planing it a long time now! first ive got to get my hands on a couple of new ford 5000's one for its rear wheel's exaust and air breather! and the other for my collection! i know some one who has a lonestar secura cab weather he still has it or not i dont know but if not i know were to get my hands on a marrshal and then its just the bonnet from a 2294 ertl model i think thats it! ive got the chassis and axle already and the primer and paints this will be my first real conversion so i will keep every one posted!
  10. Im going to build a 2wd David Brown 1690 and i want to fit a john deere 4020 2wd axle to it! so im going to have to make a braket. so if some one could show me how they made there bracket and what material they used please?
  11. Well you could of just put (i dont want a david brown) instead you added on the headaches bit two when you know notting about them! i will be giving no further advice!
  12. You wanted advice all im trying to do is help!sorry matty im curious how many DB's have you had?? so what gives you the right to say they cause headaches! they are the best little tractor there is! the second choice for me would be a MF135 as not only are they stylish (but not as tylish as the DB) they are relible tractor's but the share the same problem as other 100 series massey's they are to light!
  13. two big for his want's! i ment the nuffield/leyland/marshall mini's which are a lovely little compact tractor! oh and the David Brown 780! these are great little tractor's this one has wide wing's because its an export model!
  14. Weve one of them! i dont know what model it is?? but its 4wd and about the same size as that SAME its 4 cylinder and weve also got a spair 4wd axle with it two!
  15. yeah i wasent really gone on the Schluter's in it either nice artcle on some rare DB's yeah i liked the David brown fleet profile in classic tractor plus there's a lot of old ford rubish neer the front of T&M so i just skiped it!
  16. Got it there this evening its quiet good! i have only flicked trough it im going to read it later! what your opinion??
  17. Get the buy and sell also! id say you will find it hard to get a 135 for 2000 pound's but you would get a 2000/3000 for that alright!another little tractor you should consider is the David Brown 770 and 780 which are a lovely little tractor and are a very shout after tractor! i have to say id rather drive/operate a DB 770/780 over a ford 2000/3000 and its not because im a DB man! there is many other's to also consider like the small nuffield's/leyland's mini bmc's and the little fordson Dexta's ect ect.. if i were you id keep looking for a while and always make sure to test drive the different tractor's before you buy!
  18. the other one we bought was almost completly striped any way so there is no real loss!
  19. Well its a big desition for me as i have several favorite's! No.1 been of course you guested it the David Brown 1410 2wd! i have all happy memories on a VQ cabed model which is used for all sort's me and this particular tractor just seem right when we are working toughter! The 1410 also has many advantages over the competion one is they are stronger built machine's they never seem to need weight's unlike the ford 7000 and massey 1080's! a very torque engine which will pull far better than its compeditor the ford 7000! also they are a very fast tractor on the road with great brakes! and an excelent steering lock! the 1412 would be a joint favorite with the 1410! also i must say i like the Massey Ferguson 390 2wd none turbo also i used one the odd time with my old employer it was a nice tractor to operate ect.. but would get stuck very easyly! i would have to say the ford 7000 is the worst tractor i have driven! there is no life in them! horrible stearing! and that bloody rattle box they have as a cab to! another one i very much like is the David Brown 1594 4wd hydrashift i used our own commerative edtion one there last summer and it was a grand machine to operate especialy the hydrashift may invest in one! so my favorite is the David Brown 1410/12 part of the DB syncromesh range!
  20. Yes an excelent article on the David Brown tractor's and the ford collection i also enjoyed reading the magizine as always Rory! Great Job!
