  1. Seeing as the first thing you would do is to throw away the box, that would be a tad silly, now wouldn't it?
  2. ..... and in a couple of hours all those posts that are not on topic will be deleted too!
  3. So if the SKU starts with a 4 it is Euro spec, and if it starts with a 1 it is a Yank?
  4. 14610A is already on the list. SKU = Stock Keeping Unit = the part number on the box.
  5. There are so many different Case models doing the rounds at the moment that my head is spinning If ppl would care to post to this thread any and all variations they come across, preferably with the SKU numbers, we can keep a record for posterity. Magnum Series: -------------------- Magnum 245 : SKU 14532 : Magnum 275 with disc harrow : SKU 14513 : MX305 Duals : SKU 14571 : MX305 : SKU 14447 : MX310 : SKU 42113 : -------------------- Puma Series -------------------- Puma 180 Farm Show edition : SKU 14610A : Puma 195 : SKU 14531 : Puma 210 : SKU 42303 : Puma 210 Dealer Launch Edition (Duals) : SKU 14534A : -------------------- Maxxum Series -------------------- MXU 125: SKU 40784 : MXU 135 with cultivator: SKU 14475 : Maxxum 140 : SKU 14596 : --------------------
  6. Whatever about RC2 making these, there is no way UH will get the licence from Case. I've been banging on to Bill Walters of RC2 for a couple of years about the potential this model would have for them (1200, 1210, 1212, 1410, 1412. Victor Cab, Standard Cab. Q Cab. Sekura Cab. Brown engine, Red engine. White bonnet. Yellow bonnet. 2wd, 4wd. Etc. Etc.) And now that they have made the Sankey 14x34 wheels for the Ford 5000, that is part of the cost covered! :D
  7. There are a few in Classic Tractor this month. Maybe Rory could post them to this thread.
  8. Can you not use a GPRS or 3G card (or USB modem) and run the Interwebs off the mobile network?
  9. A few more ................ Massey 8130 Massey 390 John Q 4255 & Keenan Orbital Spreader Fattening Shed Abbey Tanker Major Tanker Thorpe Grain & Lee 12 Tonne Silage trailers Fendt Combine, Fiat 110-90 and Lee 12 Tonne Grain trailer. Some 1:50th haulage stuff. Unfortunately my camera ran out of juice before I could get more pics of the 1:50th stuff. I should also mention that Leo is currently in the process of organising a visit to the Mammoet HQ in Holland sometine in Spring 2008. If any of the non-Irish (or honorary Irish) fancy the trip, be sure and talk to Leo!

    Hemp

Hemp is an amazing crop! As F-P has mentioned, it can be grown for the seed, or for the straw/fibre. The way it is harvested differs totally for each end use (although I have an idea for a harvester that will do both ). I often buy hemp oil as a replacement for butter. High in Omega 3 and Omega 6, low in bad cholesterols. Has a slightly nutty flavour. Makes a great oil for a salad dressing. Rather than go into all the details of the crop, I recommend people have a Google about Hemp (or Cannabis Sativa as it is known in Latin!). Here is one site that will give a lot of the background to the crop and its Industrial uses (as opposed to its recreational uses ): [url=http://www.industrialhemp.net/index.html]Industrial Hemp .Net The crop is a bugger to work with because the fibres are so tough. I've seen pictures of combines with their undersides destroyed by the stubble - it tears away the metal. It will wrap around any moving shaft, and it will wreck any bearing it gets near. On the other hand, it completely out-competes any weeds, making weed control of a following crop much easier, and its roots go very deep, drawing up minerals and nutrients from the subsoil - making following crops yield very well if the straw/stubble is ploughed back in (although the straw will eat mouldboards like they are pig iron). There are some good pics of the Hemp harvest at [url=http://www.coolhemp.com/en_home_harvest.htm]the CoolHemp website. Here are two. The second one shows the rubber mat put under the combine to prevent damage.

  12. Rory, Have you ever approached Oliver Walston about writing articles for the mag? His farm diaries on the thriplowfarm website date from 1974 and give one of the best overviews of the changes in farming over the last 30 odd years. A feature on the diaries would be great in itself.
  13. Another superb edition! The feature on the Cooley World record was awesome. One has to wonder, though, if Rory has the hots for Caroline Hanlon He took enough pictures of her anyways! Sad to learn that the County articles are over. Hopefully there will be more to follow. The more County anoraking the better. Pity the 7000 used for the Britains model had such a wide track. Never seen one like that in real life. ..... and a Ford 7400 in the classifieds not to mention a Fritzmeier cabbed 7000. Keep up the good work Mr Day!
  14. Excellent News! I thought the latest issue was the bestestestest ever, but the thought of 6 months of a CT free of gammy red things is just awesome! Well done Marky! (ps: Rory, about that Fendt Black Beauty ........................ )
  15. Yet another successful, Nashmach free, Model Show. Fabulous Hotel. Fabulous views of Kinsale Harbour Lovely ballroom There were some nice models there too! Such a pity you couldn't make it

    What model is it??

    It is a Ford 3000!
  17. Just home from Kinsale and absolutely Cream Crackered. Great show. The standard just keeps improving. Best Diorama and Best Tractor (a new take on the MF6480! ) were won by Paul Moynan. Phensey and Farmmodels.net were runners up respectively. Need to recharge the batteries in the camera before I can upload the pics. Could do with recharging my own batteries too! Time for ZZZzzzzzs!
  18. Oh Deere! Agritechnica and Zwolle in the same week! How can I make that work?
  19. Two Fendt 930s just drove past my office. One with a Hesston 4900 baler and the other with a Claas rake. Why would you put a 930 on a rake? :o
  20. Not a snowball's hope of anybody but the Yanks beating that record! Apparently there are a handful of big-time collectors in the USA with over 3000 antique John Qs between them. That would give the Septics a good start at the record! The biggest problem they will face will be flying over the 3000 Paddies they will need to drive them all! No third party pics yet Jase. I'd imagine there will be a DVD or summat before Christmas.
  21. There's a story to how I got this model - 30 years ago, almost to the day. My father had a hatred of traffic lights, and as he drove down back streets to avoid one particular set of traffic lights, I spotted this model in the window of a small corner shop. It's funny the things you remember! The log is original, even if it has been artistically "enhanced". Here's the box it lives in, with lots of other stuff from that era.

    Ford 7000

One of these years I'm going to make it to the Dorset Steam Fair! :'( And yes, the decal is wrong! (but everything else about it looks bang-on).
  23. It is real. I'll take a picture of my one later and post it.

    What model is it??

What about it? That 3000 looks tidy. How many hours on her?
