Here are three generations of the same tractor, all 6 cylinder and 2wd. IH 946 (1971-1977), IH 955 (1977-1982) and IH 956XL (1982-1985)

There was one for sale at the recent Mitchelstown Show, where I got the 3350. I couldn't bring myself to pay the money for it though.

20, 40 and 50 series Deere. A 30 series with OPU cab would round out the collection nicely

Polish and Czech versions of the same machine. I remember sitting in school in 1977 and a yellow Ursus 1201 rocked up outside. A local farmer was upgrading from a burgundy C385 and the handover took place outside the school. It spent a lot of time on a beet harvester with a 5000 and 4100 drawing away from it.

A new theme in recent years has been 2wd 6 cylinder tractors. It started out with Fordson and Ford but has now been expanded to other makes. I currently have one Massey, the 2620, and hope one day to get an 1135 as well. Other options could be 399, 699 and some of the 3000 series. We'll see.

Fintan will be able to give a better answer than I (and give you the location of that field of classic SAME's near Galway), but there is one excellent model shop about 2.5 hours south of Dublin (close to Rosslare Harbour if you are using that crossing, but my recollection is you are nearly Scottish 😇). https://www.toymodels.ie/ also https://www.marksmodels.com/ near Dublin for a small selection of Agri but a large selection of everything else.

Get the ferry from Holland to Dublin, spin up the M1 to Larne and get the ferry to Scotland. The Six Counties have the benefit of being in the EU and UK at the same time, so no additional taxes.

MF 165 and 175 could be knocked out very easily from the drawings they have for the 1/16 versions. MF30/500 seed drill would be fantastic to see.

Wiking will make them if JCB/JQ marketing ask for them.

Some very nice collections and dioramas and a couple of niche sellers in addition to Model Mania. Very busy, and almost nobody wearing masks, so very uncomfortable.

I went to the Mitchelstown Model Show yesterday and picked up an Oh Deere 3350 2wd for my 6 cylinder 2wd theme There was also a Toys Farm 3130 2wd with Sekura cab for sale and I was sooooooooooo tempted as that would have given me 20 series, 30 series, 40 series and 50 series 2wds.

Love to hear your thoughts on the ROS drill when you get a chance to look at it.

It's about 10 years since I last attended, but I'd imagine there will be a good crowd as there hasn't been a model show in quite a while now. It'll be like a warm up for Moira at the end of the month 🤑
