The Tractor Twitcher
these deeres look stunning!! man after my own heart. i have the 8850 and 8630 farm show, and coud'nt be more pleased with them. Thanks Chris, very pleased with these models too, especially the 8850. The Plow City 8630 and National Farm Toy Show 7020 are probably top of my John Deere shopping list, whilst theres also a dual wheeled version of the 8440 i'm also on the look out for. The Tractor Twitcher
Feeling the need for a model tractor "fix" the recent Universal Hobbies Ford and County tractors have now found a home at Derwent Vale in favour some of the more modern New Holland tractors I have. Also joining them are this Imber models Ford 6640 SL 2wd that represents a real one I have driven in the past. Whilst the Universal Hobbies 20B now resides alongside my 240. I've big plans for my Ford and Fordson collection this year and i'm in the process of another cabinet reshuffle. Having now decided to dedicate one of my larger cabinets to this theme. I've around 130 modern models no longer on display in my cabinets. Fully agree, I do love the big articulated tractors and i'm definitely going to be paying my Steiger collection a little more attention later in the year. With regards to the casting the Wildcat II is based upon, i'm aware of at least three other variations i'm missing, all green and red examples: Wildcat Series I on Super Singles Super Wildcat Series I on duals Bearcat Series I on duals ...However i've plans for a fleet of Ford FW tractors which will take priority over these, an empty shelf awaits.....possibly. They're based at Bedale not all that far away from where I live. With regards to 1/32nd scale Steiger models I've built up quite a comprehensive list of tractors made by Ertl and Scale Models, having searched the internet, that I don't have...there's rather a lot! However as my blue collection is seemingly taking priority at the moment it's the FW variations i'd like to add first hopefully.

The Tractor Twitcher
Very nice additions David. Im half thinking of getting a Imber 6640 myself cause they have dropped in price ,but knowing my luck the 7740 will appear there after. Thanks Justin, delighted with my recent purchases. Just in the middle of yet another swap around in my cabinets. I currently have five Imber 40 series tractors residing in my collection, 6640 SL 4wd, 6640 SL 2wd, 5640 SLE 4wd, 5640 SLE 4wd Industrial and 5640 SL 2wd. Thanks to extras that come with these models there's a bit more variation between each one. Planning on purchasing at least one more for the time being, a 2wd 5640 Industrial then i'll continue to wait patiently for a 7740 and several other releases i'm looking forward to aquiring this year. The Tractor Twitcher
Having recently decided to sell off a significant portion of my collection, largely modern Britains, Siku and Universal Hobbies general releases, my displayed collection has continued to evolve. After moving on the majority of my unwanted models at a local sale I ended up filling in some of the gaps i'd created in my cabinets when I travelled to Malvern for the Tractor World Show last weekend. The themes I ended up focusing on the most were my International and Ford / Fiatagri / Ford conversions. As result i've had a major shift around in how these models are displayed giving them a cabinet each placed on top of each other. Whilst i'll post individual photographs and a few words regards my recent purchases in due course, here's how I now have them all lined up together. Starting with my Case / Case IH and International themed cabinet that used to house all of my blue models. The Tractor Twitcher
Whilst my blue associated models have all been moved into the floor standing cabinet below along with my terracotta tractors too.

Whilst I have other makes represented in my collection I definitely have more blue in my blood than anything else, i'm huge fan of the Fords and associated conversions. Hopefully we'll see an Imber 7740 in the not too distant future.
The Tractor Twitcher
Here's the first selection of individual photographs of the models that came home with me from my recent trip to Malvern. Starting with one of my favourite themes, my Ford conversions. Whilst i've yet to photograph a real one in preservation, i've now added this wonderful DBP Doe 5100 to my line up Ford 5000 based models. Continuing in the same 5000 based vain only on a much larger scale, my Universal Hobbies / F.T.F County 754. This joins the standard release 654 and Super 4 from Universal Hobbies. The Tractor Twitcher
Next up the first of three Roadless model tractors to join my collection. Commencing with my Ken Davies built Scaledown Roadless Ploughmaster 6/4. The real deal seen at Newark last year. Followed by the superbly put together model. The Tractor Twitcher
Lastly from my Roadless model tractor collection are my G & B Models Roadless 120 with Duncan cab followed by a 95 fitted with the Lambourn cab. These join a Ducan cabbed 95 and 115 I bought last year. Here's a real 120 with the Duncan cab that I phottograph at the Millenium Show at Newark. The Tractor Twitcher
Continuing the blue theme to my recent purchases and the first MarGe Models tractor to join my 10 series Fords line up. After looking at both bubble and Super Q cab versions I ended plumping for the Gen II 4wd example to sit in between my Universal Hobbies 7810 and Martyn Reeve 2wd 7610. It's a really smart and very well finished model with a number of additional "goodies" included. But I can't help but think the angle of the steering column is a little steep. The real deal I photographed at the British National Ploughing Championships in 2010. ....Followed by the model.
The Tractor Twitcher
One of my main plans this year is to put together a line up of Ford FW articulated tractors to display together. I now have four in my collection after adding the Ertl FW-60 on duals and Stephen Frater FW-60 Automatic conversion to my collection that also includes the two Briatins standard release FW-30 and FW-60 tractors both on super singles. I'm now on the look out for some of the older Ertl variations.
The Tractor Twitcher
The last blue model to join my collection from Malvern was this New Holland 110-90 on row crop wheels by Mini-Toys and ROS. It's now displayed in my collection alongside another ROS blue version fitted with standard sized wheels. I'm hoping to add the A.C.A Repliagri version to this line up in due course. Another 110 - 90 variation to join my collection is this terracotta version from Mad For Models and ROS. In all honesty this model isn't as nice as the Replicagri versions, the angle of the exhaust for a start just doesn't look right. That said I absolutely love the styling of these 90 series Fiatagri tractors and have really enjoyed building up this part of my collection so I was quite keen to add this example to join the others. The Tractor Twitcher
I've also added the revised version of the ROS 180-90 to my terracotta line up to join the first example and the limited edition dual wheeled model in my collection. Time for a game of spot the difference. Whilst the updated model looks slightly more purposeful on it's chunkier rubber, has opening doors, the alternative linkage option and extra lights my original version in this case is the better finished and put together of the two models. The Tractor Twitcher
The other tractor manufacturer residing in my collection gaining some attention was International. Another line up i'm thoroughly enjoying building up. First up, Replicagri's very fine efforts at miniaturising both the 845XL and 1055. Whilst the Britains / F.T.F 2wd 1056XL now sits in between the standard 956XL and my two Dave Towse conversions.
