Thank you Tris, I always enjoy trying to take shots from different distances when i'm at working days or ploughing matches if there's a nice back drop. It makes a change from filling the lense purely with horse power There's a few quiet villages near me with similar views from the river's edge and most are clean and devoid of litter, they make for some nice tranquil viewing. If the weather stays decent this week while i'm off work, might have a ride round a few with the camera. Here's some photographs I took just before the Sun went down and just before I hit the real ale. They were taken from the camp site of a local pub I was staying at for a friends 40th last June. I tried one like that recently when I was sitting holding the foot brake on my mates recovery truck whilst he was getting the legs down since the hand brake was not working properly with the extreme frosty weather we had. Thanks Bill, i'm always trying to look for different angles or viewpoints to take photographs, particularly machinery. It's a truck that actually inspired me to have ago taking photographs through the mirrors of machines. I have a book some where called "Off Highway Trucks of the World." In it there's a picture taken through the wing mirror of a truck parked at the side of the road that then captures another truck hauling a load of power boats in Austrailia. I thought it looked amazing. Here's another attempt through the mirror of a friends car. And some more farm land photographs I took looking across the Vale of Pickering last year. Oops, thank you for noticing that Bill. We were tidying up the headlands and following the line of the hedge, thankfully my bendy furrows in the middle of the field had already been covered up by the power harrow Here's some attempts at Sun set photographs from last year. Thanks Tris, it's taken from the top of an old railway bridge and isn't to far away from the main road I travel to work on everyday. Here you go mate, taken well into procedings just after the folk band had finished playing by my best mate, my impression of a "sophisticated delinquent" Moving swiftly on a few more farm land pictures taken in the Vale of Pickering and a couple from Wykeham Nurseries near Scarborough. It was a great night, and the next day that same "sophisticated delinquent" was in a shirt, tie and white coat stock judging 4 Limousin show cattle. I'll have my agent give the Beeb a ring. The only occasions I do serious is anything to do with work or family, outside of those parameters i'm happy-go-lucky and always up for a good laugh. I always wanted to do the Lyke Wake Walk but somehow never got round to it \ \ \ I love living so close to it all Mike, have done quite a bit of walking around Goathland, Beck Hole, Grosmont and Littlebeck and back across over to Sleights when I was doing my A -levels. Stayed at Boggle Hole Youth Hostel on a few occasions too on Robin Hood's Bay. My Mum did the Lyke Wake Walk as a school trip many years ago, i've walked part of it before from The Lion Inn pub on Blakey Ridge, looking forward to getting out and about up there again with the camera this year.
