Lord Ferguson
Barry asked me to Pop up a topic on my current avatar picture... I found this very strange looking MF in a recnet eBay purchase... it's a 1974 French MF range catalogue.. The tractor is called the MFW11 ... which is a strange thing in itself.... Joe dig some digging and we reckon it's a re-badged Eicher model... If anyone out there knows any more I'd be delighted if they can enlighten us further... Rory... do you have a brochure on it

Lord Ferguson
It does have to be the most ugly tractor Massey have ever produced I reckon :D Iain.. I'm sure you are correct on the cab... looks like an air cooled engine as well... the spec says it's a six pot
Barry
I think it looks rather nice!!!!!! Thanks for posting the big picture up Marky
Massey Boys Mum
The long stretched look makes me think it could have been a proto-type for the MRI scanner that came into use in 1974. That grill at the front is a little door where they slid the person in.
Marmitemania
It is an Eicher tractor MF owned them for a short while.
fordson major
Looks interesting did Eicher use a lot of ZF transmission parts in there tractors as some of the castings look the same as our old International 1046 tractor.
The Tractor Twitcher
Hope this information is of interest (you might already be aware of this Mark). In 1970 Massey Ferguson purchased a 30% stake in Eicher tractors and a number of their mid range tractors with similar styling to the one in question were fitted with Perkins engines. MF bought Eicher completely in 1973 resulting in some Eicher tractors being badged up as Fergies before selling their interests. Eurodeere
Definetly an Eicher badged MF. Didn't realize MF were badging that range, I thought it was just the later models. Good find there.
archbarch
interesting wonder how many were badged up, probably done to get rid of existing Eicher stock???

Marmitemania
I think you climb in from the back, over the hitch, nice and safe!! marky, how the hell do you get into the cab?!
AlexMF
I think you climb in from the back, over the hitch, nice and safe!! best have a PTO guard on that then.... some one say HSE?! oh and also, why is there something looking like a cab step in the normal place then?! Marmitemania
I noticed the step in the normal place, I think thats just a carry over from the uncabbed version shown in the picture, the only other way I can see in is if you open the windscreen as they do on that type of cab and possibly pull the section out that looks like a bit of Tarp with press studs just above the step, would seem an awful lot of trouble to go to though. Remeber the JCB's you had to get in through the sliding window. best have a PTO guard on that then.... some one say HSE?! oh and also, why is there something looking like a cab step in the normal place then?! Eurodeere
Many users did climb in over the back of the tractor as it was far easier than opening the window and lower door. The cab was made by Fritzmier and was fitted to a number of UK tracors, notably the JD 4020 and County Super Six.
