Blue man
Verdicts still out as to weather we`ll put in our own silage with our Taarup Double Chop or hire the 7810 and 7610 into the local contractor !
Valley Axe Man
No real change to the fleet so far for this year down in the Valley, Running a trusty Ford 7000 to provide the power for a Tarrup handy 1500 single chop and a Ford 5000 to tramp about at full chat with the 4.5t Weeks plus 40 and MF 22 trailers and a big booted NP Supermajor taking care of clamp duties with an old trip buckrake..... Although a demo with a Kidd doublechop could be not too far away so a little investment to the fleet may be on the cards, along with a new Ford 7600 as the prime mover, as the old major getting a bit tired on the clamp and could be replaced by the possible retired 7000 and a stronger and slightly bigger buckrake. Valley Axe Man
Classy old skool fleet you have there Paul. Cheers Justin . Maybe the 4600 and 4000 in the collection might get pressed into service on the longer hauls with having the couple of extra trailers in the fleet, the chopper never has to kept waiting for an empty ...... just got to feel sorry for the buckrake man he could end up sweating more than the major he'd be driving
justy 46
Id say the driver on Major would have dead arms and shoulder's from the lack of power steering & changing gears on the pit.
Valley Axe Man
Hahaha Very true Justin though this major has the power steering... could benefit a shuttle' box to take some of the arm work out if it

Luke190
Hope to get some photos up soon, my 2014 fleet: Big M 500 mower New Holland T6090 w/ Kuhn triple mowers, for busy periods to back up the Big M. It's been a right pain though, we've had the dealers out more times than any other mower we've previously owned. Possible change to claas next season New Holland T4.75 w/ tedder New Holland T7.220 w/ claas rake Claas Jag 900 (we plan to change to a New Holland if the new (Britains) model has a good demo John Deere 6210R w/ Kane halfpipe JCB Fastrac 3230 w/ Kane halfpipe New Holland TM155 w/ Richard Western 14T (tractor soon to be upgraded to New Holland T6.140) Boss prefers the blues but the JCB and JD have been good on tyres, not so heavy on the ground and we got a good deal for both Clamp duties: JCB Farm Master 416s Fendt 939 w/ front rake We also run a Unimog 1600 for running repairs, carrying a portable welder etc

Valley Axe Man
Now with having another pair of trailers that have joined the fleet.... and If all goes according to plan down in the Valley ....... We might have a new forager on demo for a bit of the last cut in a fortnight's time....... ;)
Valley Axe Man
Last bit of 2nd cut harvested fine at the weekend with the "Demo" of the Kidd Double Chop The old 7000 seemed to handle it no problem without any major issues and it seems to fill the MF22's at a fair pace.......So signed on the dotted line and one will join the fleet for the 2015 campaign

SPN
When I were a lad, a local contractor had a DB1210 under one of those Kidd double chops, a 1212 hauling away with two Munster Machinery 10 tonners, and a Massey 65 with the front loader from a Massey digger on the pit. The following year he had a 4wd Zetor 6745 (I think) on the pit.
