this collector did not collect any of them only the county- britains TW20 was based on a pre production field test Ford TW20 with TW 30 engine so basically even as a TW20 its wrong  for a production tractor

I never collected them ether , even tough they are probably worth a few pound today .. When the Britains bought out the Heritage range of Fords , it just opened up a whole new spectrum for Ford conversions & that's when I decided to build my own 7700 & a few of the smaller 3 cyl Fords . You  just work with what is available to you at the time basically .

I thought the Tw 20 and 30 shared the same 6.5lL 6 cylinder power unit that first came to light when the 8000 was launched in 1968, first turbocharged for the 9000 in 1969. Being slightly uprated for the 8600,9600, 8700 and 9700 until the TW range was launched in 1979. Basically the 8700 and 9700 was re-launched as the Tw 10 and 20 and a intercooler was added to produce the new Tw 30.

the engine was basically the same engine but tw30 was intercooler and had water/oil cooler   the prototype tw20 tractor had this fitted  hence it was copied y britains but production tractors never had it fitted

So is the engine detailing on the Britains TW-20 casting not what it should be ?? or is there more ?

the original engine was 401 designation  and last series was BSD 666 Engines , funnily enough the earlier engines  were not as prone to porous problem as later engines. The 401  six cylinder engine was designed around two ford 4000 engines in a common block.

When you think about it. The 4000/4600 & 4610 used a 3.3L capacity 3 cyl engine with a bore & stroke of 4.4x4.4.. the TW-20 is double the capacity at 6.6L with the same bore & stroke. !! So that makes since alright.

Thankyou Paul, a few more Countys a Roadless or 2 plus a 4600 and a 8210 would be nice additions though, if only!. My son informs me the show was a success with a good turnout the working area being very popular!.20180819_143551.thumb.jpg.56a5f670b088bb6d5da7d76eba9251d0.jpg20180819_142652.thumb.jpg.97001171b8b24d13395ed1a19a77f562.jpg20180819_145431.thumb.jpg.8af4bac7aadb21a1bd9256f9dede6010.jpg20180819_145313.thumb.jpg.52b7303c7a4bfeb88c0713df58bb797a.jpg20180819_151020.thumb.jpg.0a790ee8140927a0a856aa113fea6689.jpg20180819_142113.thumb.jpg.db5dfcd559d4e1297c5a4ada95fa5d13.jpg20180819_141636.thumb.jpg.862d82c88b30e43bb1fb9700a948dbad.jpg

Great collection Steve . They are all in great nick !!  It's nice to take them out every once and a while & line them up or pair them up with some implements and take a few snaps .  It's something I enjoy doing myself .  We need 3 pot Fords badly tough in 1/32  to strike an even balance  with all the 4 & 6 pots . Fingers crossed we will get them in the near future !;)

Too right Justin, its nice my son likes to play with them from time to time as it gives me a good excuse to have a play myself. I suppose once a carpet farmer always a carpet farmer!. Hope we do get some 3 pots and a 8210 in the future plus more County/Roadless types. I still find it odd that hardly any of the old 4wd conversion types have been made by the mainstream model makers considering how popular they are.

Yeah that's true with the 4wd conversion types , the Britains 7600 & 6600 could have been further developed into County FOURs !! Early 10 Series  Gen 1s with Q cabs  could also have been developed from them & even a simple 5600 !!  I don't think Britains realise that more could have been done with all their Heritage range Fords , I know for a fact UH would have milked them moulds to death almost if they  had a chance . !!  :D

The FOURS are a straightforward upgrade. Two wheels, an axle and some decals..

Old britains TW 20 sorry 7710! arrived today, seems to have never been removed from its box as front wheel was stuck to plastic inner. I wanted a original as my other 2 are convos and because its in as-new condition it will stay as it is. Box has age related wear but i like the original £3.40 price tag, i wish models today was that cheap. 20180831_132958.thumb.jpg.215ce6c5f7e9dbcd7d48147adf8d6ff9.jpg20180831_132221.thumb.jpg.e0273ea6d07d1f55a31e912169c4efc3.jpg

Two more classic Britains models for my collection arrived recently. Both in fairly good nick so pretty pleased with them. FIAT 90-90 has a repro cab but im not too bothered about that.20180928_174206.thumb.jpg.6d7d504084fbd4b43ccb9326d70c7e2e.jpg
