The Bamford Whizzler was the first drum mower I ever saw working as I was used to the old finger bar type, I was so impressed at the time with the speed and cleanliness of the cut. Great acquisition and look forward to the restoration

I put it on facebook last night in the Bamfords group and a lot had memories of it being the first drum mower they saw! as well as loads about how the drums and saucers used to fall off, and judging by the fact im missing two i dont doubt it!😆

Bit of silaging this weekend with a couple of friends over on the Mendips, i took the 7710 and borrowed a friends inline 400 forager. Works perfectly as a pair might have to take it off his hands at some point. Biggest trouble was my hydraulic pump seems to be getting airlocked and the rake man was rowing up too quick so i didnt get to do too many rows. And the mower rows were too wide to start with so i missed a few bits!

Took the 414 and 8210 to a local gatehring at a local agricultural engineers which is always a nice laid back little rally. Put both on the dyno 8210 was a little down from when tested in the winter but the 414 after its rebuilt engine produced a healthy 31hp (Should be 35 from new) and after 60 years im happy with that. Also happy to have been accepted into GDSF which is a very prestigious show to get into with the 414 and Massey Harris

interesting, dont recall seeing a te20 with a lambourne cab fitted before. only really seen them on a few late 35’s or mor common on early 100 series masseys.

There are a few about, this is a mk3 lambourn, originally the tractor had a winsam cab on but has been replaced with this one at some point in its life. I have found that you could get the MK2 available for a fergie so it isnt far out period wise, just need to put the windows back in and tidy up the doors a bit make them more flush with mudguards25182095_10215675805390726_762508066592582378_o.thumb.jpg.dd0d2de9f2035665deea09ea9fa12375.jpg25182248_10215675804990716_9077705241334179648_o.thumb.jpg.eac619cbe18e5e67505d2d1bb1d1cc49.jpg25074990_10215667465582236_604320230723027235_o.thumb.jpg.31a40d7b5f975bca50ae7569885e6e78.jpg

The Rochester airport TE20 was the basis for the FTF model many years ago

Yes, although I believe that was the training school one which was used to teach people how to drive the other 2, I was told there was a total of 3, a pair like mine this being 1 which was used on the airfield and a third a standard one used as a training vehicle

Little delivery this morning from Kent, a lovely little Ferguson TEF 20 fitted with a mounted road brush. Was used on Rochester air field for keeping the runway clear as well as mowing with a set of gang mowers.

We put a Lambourn MkIII on our pre-Foce 5005 about 69/70 it had a sticker on the door near handle with the Lambourne (prancing horse style?) emblem saying Mk III. Rolled up rear curtain with poly window so access to trip handle for the TS83 3f  reversible plough. All stripped off bar windscreen all summer.

A few from last week,

Yesterday's Farming on the 20th and 21st - Took 4 tractors down and was nice enough to win best vintage tractor for the Fergie

Then onto the Great Dorset Steam Fair of which i was lucky enough to have entered 2 tractors (For those that know its very hard to get a tractor in let alone 2!) and had good feedback and met a lot of new people, just now have to get rid of the notorious Dorset dust!

Sounds like they need a better system.... Or more exit routes.... Glad you had a great weekend other than that Zac 😉

First off a nice little laid back friendly working weekend at my local fruit farms apple tasting weekend, lovely little get together and chance to play in some nice soil. Took a few over for the weekend, and only a mile up the road!

Next up just before christmas i took part in an illuminated tractor run, something becoming more popular. Unfortunately half way round my front right hand tyre blew off the rim and i have to abandon it for the night and recover it home with my bosses tractor luckily lent to me.

Next up was our annual New Years day that me and a couple of friends organised, with the 82 out of action i took the 7710 out. We had 115 tractors and raised an amazing £2,452 for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and a local primary school.

This weekend was the Somerset Tractor Show at the Bath and west showground, a first for the year and always good. This year i took my lovely original Dorset IH 414 up there with a recently aquired IH S6-1 Seed drill that remained barn stored on the Welsh Gloucestershire border. I am loving the pair and was honored to have been awarded best implement in show!

Drill looks very similar build to the STEGSTED we had for many years from the early 60s, 4 3/4" row spacing.Badge engineered maybe? Danish built, I think from memory. I have some coulters cast to "oneday" convert a Britains NORDSTEN......
