NIGEL FORD
can't have been many of them over here, maybe the next after the Howard Bigbaler before NH & Welger big balers?

They were launched in 1983 and used steel wire rather than twine. Not popular by all accounts.

Hi Robbo, yes Goodiestractor hope to be there. We booked the hotel when we were there last year, hopefully the hall won't be quite as warm as it was last time but then it is a little later this year which helps It is a very nice place for the event.

Toyfarmer1
FYI - Translated from a Dutch Article : Europe wants stricter border controls for non-EU travelers from October 6, including travelers from the United Kingdom. Britons will have to have biometric data such as facial scans and fingerprints read. Chaos is expected in the UK itself, now that private individuals will experience the consequences of a hard Brexit for the first time. In the news: The new biometric scans would be poorly organized, the British think. From October 6, all non-EU citizens entering the EU will have to have their faces scanned and their fingerprints taken. This can be done at border control, but an app has also been created to provide your details before you travel. Once the biometric data has been entered into the system, you can pass through border control based on facial recognition for three years. As a non-EU citizen, you must then update your details again. This is possible until your passport expires. The EU's intention is to combat illegal migration. This also makes it easier to check whether anyone is violating their maximum duration of stay. And the EU would also get rid of all kinds of administrative hassle, such as putting stamps in passports. However, it appears that the app, which was developed on behalf of border security agency Frontex, does not yet work properly. British people therefore fear that long queues will arise at the borders because the data cannot yet be entered in advance. The same kind of chaos arose when trucks were physically checked by customs for the first time. The British Getlink is now installing biometric access gates in Folkestone and Calais, on either side of the Channel Tunnel. Most problems are expected at the port of Dover, because it is relatively small and many vehicles pass through. New government Zoomed in: The new British government may be able to reach a deal with the EU. The previous British Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, tried to enforce preferential treatment for the British. His idea was that British citizens would be allowed to pass through border control without much registration. That was met with a hard 'no' from Europe. The new British government, led by Keir Starmer, wants a better cooperation policy with the EU and would be willing to make deals. So it is possible that something will be agreed for the British later. Within the government it is heard that the EU measures are not being questioned. However, the new left-wing Labor government is struggling with the timing. If the checks do indeed cause chaos, Labor fears it will be blamed. This is not considered fair, as it was the Conservatives who pushed through Brexit and subsequently failed to reach a timely agreement with the EU. Postponement due to the Olympic Games Note: France also sees the disadvantages of the controls. The introduction of more thorough border controls for the United Kingdom had been planned for some time, since 2017. The EU actually wanted to put the biometric gates into use from 2021, but the plan was postponed due to protests. A final postponement came because France feared fewer visitors to the Olympic Games, which will take place in Paris. That is why the controls will only come into effect from October. This is inconvenient for the British: it is barely three weeks before the autumn holidays. The ordinary Briton appears to be completely unaware. According to a survey by the Ministry of Transport, 69 percent have not yet heard of the new system. 15 percent of respondents indicated that they would travel less due to the additional checks. The fear therefore seems justified: if the British government does not inform the population and the EU fails to make the app work, this will certainly result in frustrated travelers. Happy preparations, Cheers, Jos
Tractorman810
thats been on the cards for a while now jos, think its been put back 2 or 3 times as both sides have not been anywhere near ready to implement it , was mentioned as going live this year in january i think . your right in saying not many know about it mind, most people seem to think that burying their heads in the sand and see what happens when they try to travel . phil phoenix
The EU's intention is to combat illegal migration. That's laughable!! They're obvious intention is to maintain open borders all across the western world as far as I can see, which positively promote's illegal migration.
