yeah that fiat bit was good mart eh, theres an intresting bit about the unimogs to mate near the back with a pic of the last ever mb trac to be made to,

I had a quick flick over that bit, haven't read it yet, been too busy drooling over that Fiat F/Winner Series with the side tip trailer...... ;)

The wee 2wd Fiat looks a right best too with those tyres fitted eh...... :);)

Haven't seen it yet, but congrats to Rory in advance.

I really love the articles by the people who worked in the tractor companies in the 60s, 70s and 80s. I love reading about the background to the stuff we saw on the ground - those "ah, so that's what that was all about" moments.

...... and lots of blue porn!  :o

  • 2 weeks later...

Thanks for the kind comments guys, only just picked up on this thread. I didn't realise there was a section for books and magazines on FTF.

Glad to hear the December issue is going down well.

January issue being put to bed as we speak, due out in the shops on 24 November would you believe.

A good question. Here goes:

The magazine publishes on the last Friday of each month, which can vary between the 24th of the month and the 31st.

I do not know what the original thinking was behind publishing five weeks ahead of the actual date on the cover, but once you're in that routine it's very difficult to change.

Had we published on say the first day of the preceeding month, or the first Monday for example it might have been very different and common practice in publishing.

R Day
