Quite a few I believe.... I know of some to the baseplate - some have the walkers blanked off and the early one doesn't I recall... also the method of holding the wheels on think...

Oh.. and the colour... the early model was the right red... the later model was some kind of cherry red and waaaaay to dark  :-\

Amazing really... they can get it right in the late 70's... but not in the 90's  :-\

Not having had this model for about 20 years, Lord, could you remind me what you mean when you refer to the 'walkers'  ??? This is probably a numpty question, yes? ;)

Some were in different boxes as well. Early ones had grey underside and was shorter at the back, the back of the combine being 'open'. The front axle was a plain wire one, later ones had the shiny caps on them. The darker 'cherry red' one was made in Macau for one year only and then in China when the colour became correct again. Decals varied as well I think from time to time. Going back to the underside, later ones were black and covered the whole of the bottom.  For a full description and list of years and variants, there is an article on these combines in one of the old 'Site & Model' mags.

Powerrabbit, do you know which year the axle caps were introduced? I've seen a few on Ebay that look original apart from these reflective caps.

Is Dave Pullen a member on this messageboard? I only ask because I want to know what is wrong with this beast:  http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=200249092251&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=010. Maybe there's some major bit missing or repro parts I'm not aware of?

Is the cab glazed like on the New Holland's of the era?

I could wait 'till the end of October for Pullen's book.

I won't be able to fit more than one on my shelf!  hmmm :-\

1978 catalogue shows combine with plain axle ends, as per the tractors. 1979 catalogue shows caps on the ends of the axles. Thats trade catalogues, bigger picture ;) Perhaps the plain axle ends are from very early production, although the one featured in the catalogue is possibly a pre-production one

Well CMB... you can't ask for better.. more accurate information than that... Mr Super6 is almost certainly the most well informed Britains expert on here buddy... that's the beauty of this place.. you get some specialist advice.. from people with a real passion and knowledge for their hobby.

I'm a great believer in the fact that something is only worth what YOU are willing to pay for it.. if it feels right mate.... go for it... spoil yourself  :)

Nope Its the Little Farmer version This was made in the late 90's till around 01/02.they just used the old tooling. The seller is just trying to pass it on as the original one. ;)

David Pullen is releasing a new book covering Britains balers and combines covering from 1967-2007 which should cover all the variations of the MF760 ;)

Yes I've seen that one advertised and I must get my hands on it Mark.... I'm sure it will be a good book if his last one on tractors ( 1948 to 1998 ) is anything to go by.
