  5. Yes Alex I hope to get to Toytrac i will be helping Martyns Farm Models if i can get my work up to date right ready to start drilling but rain keeps on coming
  6. well done you have finally got to the finishing line there is still appox 300 acres of wheat on one farm near me still to cut and some parts had a lot of rain on Friday, good to hear you are on the mend look forward to your next posts
  7. Love the zetor 6718 I used to have one the cab was bigger than my garden shed if I remember right it was slow on the road
  8. I don't mind seeing tractors in different colours as they are done to stand out to say I belong to ? contractors/farmers most of the time but back in April at a well now vintage tractor auction there was a black MF 135 which to me did not look right/nice modern paint on old tractors can sometimes spoil them as they did not come out of the factory that shiny or is it just me .By coincident a contractor a few miles from me bought that one I saw to use as a show piece on his stand at the Suffolk show this year
  9. I am not a beer drinker but I would rather a beer than the tractor ,that's just mine opinion I;m sure somebody some ware will like it
  10. when I was 15 years old (yes a little while back) I was loading sugar beet with a ford 4000 and horndrulic loader and it snapped round the bell-housing only the cab made it stay together it was in December cold and wet but we got some wood and tilts and made a shelter over it and MANN-EGERTONS from Ipswich came out and repaired it
  11. Not been in long as Saturday morning started of a little bit wet so I went and spread some horse muck ready for ploughing in by then the sun was out so went and ploughed another field in barking and next door they were cutting some wheat so I had something to watch when the wind had blown the dust away
  12. Sorry to he that sean similar thing happened to us a few weeks back a good friend was not well round mine on a Tuesday night told him to go to doctors which he did next day but by the start of following week he had gone in the mean time another friend of his/mine phoned his wife to say how sorry he was to here the news put the phone down and he passed away so we had two shocks and 2 funerals
  13. the press is cheaper to run than a power-harrow and as I use a combination drill it save power-harrowing twice but I sometimes still power-harrow some headlands as you head them right for turning with sprayer to save boom-bounce .Yes we have about 32acres of rape in the ground been in about 2 weeks had one flea beetle spray so far and one planed for next week the variety is ARAZZO my neighbour put it in with his tracked J/D and simba outfit did not get pictures this year as I was doing a job away from farm at the time
  14. This one is for you GOODY its that football pitch you reckon I ploughed up I been back and power-harrowed it ready for reseeding with grass
  15. That Deutz looks in good condition and a nice fordson as well
  16. Been pressing the land I rent over at Baylem which is about 25minutes away from my farm .The press is a 3.5m Edlington which I was pulling at 6.6km/h with the tines in the ground 75-100mm which is leaving the land ready for drilling LEEDS winter wheat weather permitting around the 25th of this month
  17. Yes they did have rails as far as clutch/gearbox housing but they really needed to go back to the rear axle to stop the twist
  18. That was a good idea at the time but tractors was not strong around the engine/gearbox clutch housing and I now of 2 that snapped in half todays tractors are built stronger in that area
  19. Back in the good old days sometime in the 1980s I made a linkage like yours to go on the front of a Ford 7610fwd but I left the press on the ground because of the weight and hooked on it same as you would with the plough it worked but it put a lot of stress on the front by wanting to pull you sideways especially on a side hill so after a few fields I a banded the idea I think there was a company that made one on the front and also a side mounted one which brought the pulling point towards you back wheels so not the stress on the front
  20. Thanks for post did not want to see you lads get fined by DEFRA as that means you have less to spend on you FARMS
  21. Yes its going black there is 700 acres of wheat still to cut on one farm only 2 fields away in the opposite direction and on a dull day it really looks black
  22. Just looked at the rest of the posts I was not finding faults with you dates just adding my penny's worth sorry in advance
  23. Good pictures and topic but I hope DEFRA don't read it as you posted it on the 17AUG and you cant cut hedges till the 1st September keep up the good work
  24. Spent Saturday ploughing this very wet and compacted field which last November I was asked if I would farm it which I did planed to subsoil it but its rained every day since I combined it so through I would plough it and if we get a dry week I will still subsoil it before drilling the other picture shows in the distance a 60 acre field of wheat still to be cut which is not mine
