  12. safety frame/cab laws in denmark/sweden were well ahead of ours here in the uk. that seckura frame was known as s67 type- dont know if that meant it was designed in 1967?. they came as a basic frame as pictured or you could have them built up as a rigid clad safety cab. they were lots in the uk retro fitted to older tractors to make them comply with leglislation commonly on old masseys, david browns and fords. it was known to have them fitted to ford tractors from new in the pre-q cab days. buy cabless tractor new and fit new seckura s67 cab i have known ford 6600 fitted with them new in 1976 ahead of q cab regulations and also lambourn mk6 safety cabs.

  18. just for a bit of fun i will tell a tale that hopefully bring a smile to someones face!. worked as a fitter for a contractor who went bust and only gave everyone a weeks notice. he issued instructions to get everything ready for the sale. he wanted bomford contractors flail putting onto a tractor to sell as an outfit. the boss then announced he was away on holiday and leave us to it and paid us up in advance. let the fun commence! took tractor into workshop, set rear wheel on one side out and add wheel weights. manouvre hedgecutter through workshop doorway and fit onto tractor. pleasing result tractor now to wide to fit through workshop door and flail too high to go under the door. all previously worked out before work started. so off we go wages in hand bye bye thankyou very much- oh such fun.
  19. thames water use to run a lot of bomford 580 contractors flails on mf 590 red cabs, the tube containing pivot pin in centre knuckle was prone to failure!. you needed lots of weight on the tractor to counterbalance these flails.
