  1. Sean,............when you were at school I bet your school reports all said ...."must pay more attention in class". Both those tractors have done more than 15000 hours each,...the 575 is on its way to 18000 hours with only new pistons, rings and big and small end shells at 12000 hrs. The 7840 hasnt had its front end touched at all,.....unlike its back end, which has been "delved" into several times. They have both been posted on this forum by myself and Cerin several times.... :P :P ..... One last picture,.............. It jolly well shines now,........can nearly see your face in it. :of I am just glad that the first load turned up at 9.30 instead of 11.30 this morning otherwise this powerfloating lark would have been even more nocturnal... ;) You need to have a go on one Mark,....what a bloody weird thing to operate. It will be here for the next week or so..
  2. After getting three quarters of the first cut done last week its all hands on deck for today. The roof nets went up saturday morning.... No prizes for guessing what we're up to today...... The first load of many.... Number four (last for today)... The start.......,well,..leftovers of the first load after pouring the footings for the fan shed... The first of six strips completed... Out with the power float...... Thats all for today,...back out with the power float to get that mirror finish..
  3. Wasn't me Mr. Pullen,.........was cousin,.......4hr course.... :P Yes,...doing it ourselves,......hopefully if all goes well we will have 7 loads in next monday....
  4. Putting concrete shuttering up and getting ready to start picking up grass tomorrow,......would have started this evening but someone had to go and do a speed awareness course,....they kept that very quiet..... :
  5. Thanks for the replies,..Jamie,....this particular one was owned by tom thomas who runs with southover. Eric,....I will keep the pictures coming but none today.Had a workshop day today replacing one of the main bearings in the pottinger chopper and extracting a sheared off bolt on one of the driveshafts. Been out this evening to borrow another 20 concrete shuttering lengths and offloaded them in the building and while standing there inside, it didnt quite seem so big.... \ Ol,...milking 85 at the moment..... Tris,....good for him...... : ,......we need rain within the next week or things will suffer badly.
  6. 66 years old and still going strong,.....goes up and down those ladders like greased weasel sh*t. Geoff is his name Graham and his boys do all of Doug's roofing and cladding....
  7. After lunch, after putting half the purlins up it was decided that a panoramic view was needed so we went up to full height and started snapping away.....
  8. At 6.45 this morning....... at 8.00......... then things came to a bit of a halt,.......someone back at the yard had welded the truss endplate on UPSIDE-DOWN needless to say the air was a bit blue and 8 more holes had to be drilled... back on track,...12.15 pm.......
  9. Right,......one at a time gentlemen,..... Its gonna be bloody hooooooge compared to the rest of our "diddly" buildings and its going to be on floor drying Tris,...spoken to other people that have had underfloor vents and they wouldnt have them again. They fill up with muck in no time and take blooming ages to clean out.We have always been on floor with metal ducts so thats the way we are staying. Sean's closest,...locally built J H Ford,Rushlake Green,....Nigel's cousin Jonathan.....another J H Ford trailer to the collection.... Right Mark,...we need you down here urgently to assist with the concrete before you can cut the ribbon..... *
  10. Side number one done.... side two.... top rails going on... top rails finished.... Another fine secondhand buy,...one careful owner...
  11. you wait until the lid goes on it on tuesday..... :of :of
  12. It was when he tried lifting 7 truss sections off the lorry in one hit with the boom about 5 feet out......
  13. Aaayupp,.....look what arrived at 6.45 this morning..... In comes number one.... one hour later........
  14. Will be doing the concrete ourselves Graham,....not really looking forward to it but cant justify the extra expense. Will have to give lord fergie a shout to come and visit the same day as we have about ten loads in......... ;) Good progress today Graham,....it will dwarf the other buildings... :of
  15. Well,..everything else arrived today...... .........................apart from the bloody steel.. > > > > > Lorry broke down on the way this morning..(so they say ),...will be here 7am tomorrow without fail... :-X Had a little drain to sort out instead... ...and believe me,..it was little but moving a fair trickle of water as you will see. The clay drain was 45mm diameter,..one of the smallest I have seen,...it was 40 inches below the surface... Out with the massey and trencher.... You couldn't walk across the little wet patch to the right of the trencher without sinking half a welly....
  16. If you ever have a few minutes spare Graham, call in,....I'm never far away at the moment,....either on this building or in the workshop..... Mark,.....in the last picture where the shadow on the hedge ends, the pipe goes through and stops. When we get the first cut of grass off, I will continue the pipe another 90 metres back to a pond the size of Sean's belly... ;D . At the other end the pipe goes to a ditch in our neighbours garden. They reckon they will have it up by saturday....
  17. It never happened last week because of a slight mix up of four main pieces that were missing after galvanising. They have been found and it will start arriving tomorrow. All of the zed purlins and braces and small stuff arrived at lunchtime..... Started the drains on the south side late yesterday afternoon,...... an early morning view,.. A mad rush to get them all filled in and tidied up before the building starts to go up tomorrow.... Some late afternoon pictures...... More pictures tomorrow.... :)
  18. Happy birthday Mr. C.... Whats that funny "burnt Clutch" smell in Mum's car.......??...... :of
  19. Done St. Michaels Mount today,......absolutely brilliant,........feet are absolutely knackered....
