  1. the 550 was the 135 / 148 replacement . they were closely matched in HP but the 550 is effectively a 135 with 500 series styling as for doing a 550 convo do like old ford has done & put the skinny tyres on the back of a 595
  2. a real one that is,....... not a toy one :D :D
  3. same as before sean , it's the wheels that make it look right , the door & the front axle finish it off a treat though & it makes a nice change to see a red cabbed one :)
  4. didn't bennyv78 do one of those not long ago ?
  5. what just cutting the back of the plough off :D :D bit tricky :D
  6. the trouble with this of course is what Dave Towse said to me last year , you got to have a ready supply of base models to do it with , luckily for dave the 7000 could be built from either a 5000 or a 6600,& of course the economy & yard scraper versions , the question this time round is finding enough donors to build the ammount of 5oo series masseys to start with.
  7. here's a couple to try just follow the links http://www.farmtoysforum.com/forum/index.php?topic=4443.0 then something to put on the back of it http://www.farmtoysforum.com/forum/index.php?topic=6593.0 look forward to the pics
  8. seconded tris for that , the 575 would be a good ftf tractor , seeing as we've had fords for gold & ftf tractor last year :)
  9. i used to haul grain trailers with one of them
  10. depends on how good you are ? just look through the conversions page's to get a few ideas & try copying a few of the simpler ones to get started , then once you fell confident , try a scratch build . a question like yours is like a red rag to a bull here mate , so another possible answer to your question why not for a first time convo build a FMC pea viner,to compliment F-P's ploeger
  11. even they make the ploeger look on the small side jas \
  12. the trailer doesn't look too bad , just need to fit a decent drawbar by the looks of things , & the wheels if you had to
  13. first few pics ,& i thought you were taking pics of smurfs spare tractors :D :D
  14. would that be a field grader then F-P ?
  15. sorry but the best of them has to be the 188 :P
  16. best bet would be dave towse http://www.britainstoyfarm.co.uk/
  17. finding one in good condition would be the hardest part sean , as usually the top clip wore loose & fall out they'd go under the wheels before you'd know about it , i think i've ploughed two in at least
  18. best i come up in my wagon for a jolly as well then :D a friend of mine has a leyland T45 type rated for 38tons & is still going strong best bit is , it's a D reg so no limiter required :D RACE ON
  19. i'd be surprised if you can still get the original style grill anymore sean
  20. by the look of the cab from the pic you took it isn't in concours condition the front badge is missing , got the triangles but the sticker has gone , the cab is in need of refitting , & the hyd lift arms are showing wear ie the paint is worn away, although the arms are pinned to a different hole , the door handle isn't as it should be , the rear light lenses are sparex replacements not original, but i daresay you can no longer buy the original style lenses any more , the front cab marker lights / indicators are non original & of course it's got the wrong grill. even so a concours restorationist would have not let that show
  21. yep it's got the wrong grill for the age of the tractor that was from one of the later models then for the 200 & 600 series masseys . still looks great though
  22. really good clear pics there rob & that TW35 :P :P :P
