  1. very nice dave but in effect it is a german tractor :D maybe a McCormick or a TSa would have been more apt
  2. if thats cannington luke ,the 4000 & the 240 were mainly used for tractor driving instruction for the college newcomers , i thought the mechanical course was going to be closed though ? i used to deliver feed to canningtons dairy
  3. would it not be cheaper to just buy one from dave ?
  4. my little grader would loog good coupled to that jas
  5. i spose it reall al depends what yer harvesting , as trying to pick up a row of grass with that maize header is not going to be much fun \ :D

    Whoops

of course MF Fan will say it's because that sticker in the windscreen was obscuing your view :D :D :D
  7. whats going on with the size of yer pictures lately F-P ?
  8. Seeing as it's a single door sean it will have to be a silver & red cab , but however there was a firm called R.O.C who with MASSEY FERGUSONS backing, bought back good used 100 & 500 series masseys for complete rebuild & refurbishments,& then sold them with proper MF waranty almost as a new tractor , these 500 series tractors did have the cabs finished in silver
  9. yeah i got an idea, you need is a 3mm allen bolt with a long shoulder , cut the threads off & drill to fit
  10. yeah we got a fair few of them rear stear artics on farm collection

    few nh's

pic 3 would make a great caption for the obvious grandpa marky can i have a sit in it ? No, i've told you before , the blue ones are bad for you tris :D :D
  12. thanks for the pics , makes a nice change seeing it all trailed instead of side loading , i've noticed round our way that trailed foragers are out numbering SP's by 3-1
  13. don't forget the 8100 is becoming a collectors peice now , because it has a COUNTY makers plate on it , not a ford one
  14. the MF 630 (pottenger) flywheel chop was a good forager as was the deutz-fahr FH 900
  15. did they ? mine was just a black plastic strip that covered the lot \
  16. Damn thats seen some work nath , but i see it's one of the later models better than the earlier ones , on the earlier ones there was a variable oil control valve for swather speed where as like you say you can do it from the tractor remember to put yer 15mm block of wood under the end to check the oil in the bed , else you'll have 4 mowers for spares :D :D
  17. sorry about this nath, MF FAN do you take stupid pills ? IS IT ANY WONDER ACCIDENTS HAPPEN > > DID YOU LEARN NOTHING WHEN YOU WERE ON WORK EXPERIENCE if read properly these 'annoying stickers' as you call them could SAVE YOUR LIFE ! i give up i really do they arn't put there to annoy you they are put there to make you take notice of them , if you really notice where they are , you will see that when driving it in no way obscures the drivers vision as all it covers is the bonnet ! Have you ever been in an overturned tractor ?, jacknifed a tractor & trailer ? unfortunately i have & believe me it's bloody frightening. Law dictates that warning stickers are put there for any driver to see & read carefully, & thats not screwed up on the cab floor! Tractor accidents are on the rise because more inexperienced drivers are not aware of the dangers tractor work involves , mainly because i believe ,& i've been there, youngsters think they know more than they do & don't bother reading the warning decals. Strange i know but you will quite happily take a warning decal down & replace it with a 'PERKINS POWER' or 'RADIO 1' sticker , & if thats the case you just as well put one up that says 'I'M A KNOB' sorry to have a go Phil but this sort of things really get to me martin surprised me when he wanted to know about what tractor to buy, well the 7710 / 8210 is a good starter but , he then asked what type of radio was in them ? sorry mart but thats not the question you should be asking but maybe the question wasn't so surprising after all
  18. would have to be the MF410 as it was the first combine i ever drove but the 525 was real good as it would climb any mountain ! other than that the JD 1065/75 & the 1175 were good combines as was the orange deutz fahr **83?
  19. looks real nice sean , but arn't the 12's shorter than the 15's ?
  20. blimey , bit of time & patience certainly shows it's worth there nig , looking great i recon the siku hitch would be in order :) & get that 4wd 15 /16 on some oversized tyres will you mate as i recon they looked awsome tractors , with a sort of 'NO MESSING' look about them :) matter of fact i wonder how , DT's DB would look with the britains lgp tyres on them
  21. sorry mate ,i beat you to it , my CB handle for years has been Mr Misery :D As for getting into tight yards i used to drive a Volvo FL7 bulk blower 6 wheeler , but it was the same length as our ERF 8 wheelers & you'd be surprised where they'll go when you got a good driver , when i moved up to an 8 wheeler i used to dread some of the farms that said '6wheeler only' on the delivery tickets but you'd still get in there. when hauling for mole valley farmers with the FL i was the test driver for 'new' customers ,as MVF only ran 8's so i used to do the first load in to see if the farm was suitable for delivery vehicles , i also had twice as many pipes than the others as farmers seem to put the bins in some pretty in-accessable places . on the 'new customer' sheets i'd fill out id write in all the relevant info to be kept in the office as a reference for the transport manager. farmers name : Mr T Urd farm name ; Sh!tflick Corner farm access ; good / bad bin access ; good / bad bins ; bulk / parlour / tipped vehicle access ; 6 /8 wheeler only pipes ; 6 driver ; MJB vehicle reg ;E509UTJ

    Silage!!!

that renault looks well cared for P & considering the 290's age & being a loader tractor ,it too looks in fine fettle , i still recon the duncan cab was the better option than the secura , simply because it was tougher & more hardwearing, classed as the stockmans cab, the stockmen definatley got the better deal ! saw a 298 +duncan cab round here a few days ago hauling silage !! as for pit work marky ?, great job & very satisfying although it can get a bit hectic. When i taught anynew to pit work the first words i'd say to them would be 'don't be a hero' It's more than just pushing grass up the slope, it's a real art & this is something i will blow my own trumpet to, i was bloody good at it
  23. got loads of 6x4 / 6x2's running round this part of the country, got the boxes on for the winter then go flats for the summer , usually have a trailer though , nice truck
