  1. I would guess that Ben means the green grain cooling pedestal behind the drill myself \
  2. Nasty Steve.......did the school nurse do her training by post or something
  3. I think you need some frozen peas at the minute, you seem to be a bit hot under the collar ;D ;D
  4. I'd have thought that peas would have been more accurate in your case Tris ;D
  5. Jeez I've seen more meat on a used skewer than she has on her ;D
  6. A text from my workmate saying my boss disappeared under a mushroom cloud of extremely cold water this morning when the irrigation pipe beside the hydrant he was turning on burst ;D ;D
  7. Just seen a couple of pictures of their TX at work in crimping Barley on FWi this morning Tris, would keep you out of trouble...............hmmmmm on second thoughts ;D ;D
  8. First day of my two week holiday from work and, yep, you guessed it, I've been into work putting fertiliser on 5 acres of backward spuds first thing for an hour and also to be there in case my trainee irrigator chap needed assistance and just back in from another 2 hour stint moving one of the irrigators with him, couple of hours break now before going back to supervise moving the other irrigator again. He's got the hang of it but these two moves and the next two are not straight forward ones so he asked for some supervision............which will equal beer next time we go to the pub ;D
  9. Stuck at home for a few days after my Discovery threw a wobbly Thursday night and had a trip on a recovery truck to the garage, been a loud bang coming from the gearbox for 3 weeks now which I did have investigated before and we thought it was the standard mainshaft/input gear issue inbetween the gearbox and transfer box. The noise had been getting louder and more violent driving home from the Norfolk Show Thursday, 3 miles from home there was a loud grating noise from the gearbox area and loss of drive......bugger Garage have the box out now and surprisingly for something with 124500 miles on it there is no wear in the input gear or on the mainshaft, it looks like new so other than getting the box tested while its out its not looking to be faulty.....huge sigh of relief (the two boxes come to £1000-1200 + fitting) however the clucth has self distructed and the whole centre has sheared and ripped out of it.......bad enough but not so bad......on holiday now for two weeks as well so not the best start to it
  10. Right here goes........ 11. Far from it Sean, shorter straw would mean more in a bale so could therefore increase the weight, there's too many variables to do it that way. I'd have thought that the weighcells wouldn't take the stick myself Ricky, for it to work I would imagine that the axle would need some mounting arms coming forward of them onto a pivot point so you can mount the weighcells to the top of the axle between it and the baler body, they aren't designed to be pulled from so mounting it like that would elliminate that problem
  12. The tractor alone weighs just under 5 tons Sean so with the trailer on as well he'd be getting near to the weight limit empty, bale weight would depend on what size bales they are but if you allowed 200-300 kg a bale you probably wouldn't be far out
  13. You'd be most welcome, won't be much going on at work till the end of July really other than irrigation.......if it ever warms up enough to get things to grow
  14. Thought that was Binham Priory, I'm used to looking at it from a different angle though looking in that direction you actually have some of our fields in the distance in your pictures as well The Valtra's all belong to the same farmer, he's ran them for several years now, we make a habit of borrowing machinery off each other
  15. Nice pictures Your North Norfolk pictures look familiar, where were they taken Alex?
  16. Had my Discovery recovered from work today, we think the gearbox is failing on it >
  17. Where ever did that come from? Thats a complete work of fiction as we use 18/19 year old students every year previous to this year for carting as do many places. The only restriction is on the type of the trailer ie. two wheels or four wheels close coupled (no articulated ones) and under a certain width
  18. The insurance hasn't actually changed much on my Discovery in the time I've had which I'm happy about, did try looking about but for the sake of the few £ I could save I decided to stay with the NFU again, its nice to speak to the same person in a local office each time you call as well so I have my contents and Buster insured with them as well
  19. Just because I drive them at work doesn't mean I'm a big fan of them.........can''t pick and choose employers because of what brand tractor they run. Ford and Renault will always be my favourites
  20. I took mine in 1997 on a F reg Ford 7810, proper tractor
  21. I would definately ask permision from the person doing the work.......I had an experience earlier in the year where a picture of me ploughing turned up in Classic Tractor magazine, first I knew about it being there was when I started to get texts and phonecalls about it. The chap had wandered halfway down the field took some pictures and disappeared without making any attempt to speak to me or my colleague who's pictured on his web gallery, while I have no specific objection to it I do believe it would have been polite to speak to me (especially when he boasts of all pictures being taken with permission on his gallery )
  22. Think I'll have to try and get to this one......call my birthday present to myself as its on the same day ;D
