I have indeed, can spot a choccy biccy at 50 paces :D

    Robbo's Photos

Nice pictures Robbo I'd have thought the chap hedgecutting off the road would have had the sense to have his beacon turned on though Incidently, is that your company vehicle in the background of the 3rd JD picture :D
  4. Started drilling our rape last Sunday and finished on Wednesday, its all been sprayed and rolled now. Its two dry though so we've put the irrigator on one bit today
  5. The rear disc mounting pivot snapping off the arm on my new plough because of how hard and dry the ground is :o >
  6. Being told that its less than 3 weeks till we start potato harvesting ;D Hope we get more rain before then though \
  7. I was just thinking the same they'd be itching in places they wouldn't want to itch :o :D :D New calender for the workshop..............on second thoughts my workmate might steal it for "other" purposes :D
  8. It would actually weigh less on solid bodies as there's less metalwork in the frogs for them. The field is only turning over like that as its so dry, was more livery last year when I ploughed it, we have much worse fields than this one though
  9. I use a few methods, forklift under the centre frame, take the plough off and use my tractor, use a spare tractor if we have one or if its short distance pull it with a chain My front linkage wouldn't cope with that and the set of weights
  10. No we don't, just have a suckling herd. Austin was sold due to being too good for his own good, the calves he sired were too big for the cows to cope with resulting in cow and calve deaths during birth. One Heifer calf he sired this year came out as big as a two week old calf would be normally :o From those antics it could be Austin under another name :D
  11. Ours was called Austin so can't be him
  12. Kemper were the first company to produce the rotary type header if I remember correctly, the others all followed suit. The hemp is baled next as they like it kept as long as possible to get the fibrous core out of it. We used to combine it first taking just the top 12-18 inches off, makes the crop more valuable if you can get the seed as well, then it was cut with an old disc mower. Hemp plays hell up with machinery though, any thing that moves and it wraps round it
  13. Nice pictures Murray Is that the new Lim bull you mentioned the other day, if so do you know exactly were he came from? Only ask as we recently sold one of our two, would be a small world if it was him
  14. My thumb is fine, it was my finger the lump of steel fell on \
  15. Thats what I'm hoping for, field is going into OSR so will soon see what sort of job the Vaderstad does to it
  16. Lots of badgering and persuasion on my part :D Seriously though they use less fuel, have a lower a draft requirement and give a more broken finish meaning easier following cultivations. They cost £500 extra in the first place but we should save that over the course of time as there is less metal going in the scrap bin with slats compared to solid bodies when they wear up as well as the previous reasons It wasn't you who wished me bodily harm in that text earlier today either I suppose :D
  17. I certainly am Marky They use a special paint on the wearing parts, it peels off like sticky tape in the soil so comes off easily
  18. After a long wait my new plough was finally delivered this morning after making some adjustments to it and welding some smaller hooks on the furrow press arms I was ready to go after lunch. Its a Lemken VariOpal 8 on the BS40 slats, tips the scales at about 2100kg
  19. Take it for now and keep looking for something else, any job is better than no job with the current employment situation. Have always found its easier find work when you are already in work
  20. Thanks for the comments guys A few pictures I've just found on my phone now....... One of the 6810 getting a load Two of the 6910 on carting duties .......and one of a peaceful sleeping Buster in the combine
  21. We finished combining at 4.30pm today, all in the shed before tomorrows predicted downpour
  22. Had that happen to me a couple of years back only it was a chap and his wife in a 206, idiot tried overtaking when I'd already started to turn, was too busy talking to notice my signal and me turning when the cars behind him had seen it, ended up beneath the flail topper I had on the back splitting the front of his 206 clean in two across the top
  23. Yeah they are, looks like its in early stages as well which is good otherwise the transmission needs to come out piece by piece and have all the metal filings and paste cleaned out, mega £££££££ if it is that bad
  24. Well the 6910 is on the operating table back in the dealers workshop, turns out last nights problem was the result of a blocked filter........unfortunately caused by the brake discs disintegrating, needs £1000 worth of parts fitted to put it right
