  1. Cheers John , Aye She looks better for being sat on those 34's and even though they are new the BKT's do look a good tyre.. Yep i've spent an hour or two polishing her up, seeing as she the tractor i've always wanted i might as well look after her going to give the rear mudguards another t-cutting, they've come up abit but think another go might just help them blend to the bonnet abit better. According to the programme there were only 20 tractors actually booked in but more turned up, still it all goes to make a show, even if most attend the steamfair every May. Thanks Erik if sure if you keep looking you'll find what your looking for, Maybe treat your self for your birthday, that's all i've done the 804 is a present to me from me Cheers Mark aye there is getting more of a selection now start filtering through to the show circuit, the way the prices of smaller tractors have crept up, you can almost have something a bit bigger but might not fit in your garage or be towable behind a 4x4 as the same money as a mid sized classic, aye she looking good but sounds even better.... that straight pipe and turbo whistle is a great sound track to listen to, wouldn't mind finding a doublechop to hang on her just to enjoy the sound of her under load as a chomps through a thick patch
  2. I was caught behind the wheel.... but it also looks as though Sam (my mum's 3 legged poodle) has taken a liking to the Marshall
  3. Well had her away to Chipping Agricultural Show yesterday for a run out and a show off of her with her new boots on, Think they'd under-estimated the number of entrants into the vintage section as they were a bit short of space but i got a few photo's of some of what turned up, only a fortnight to her next show and the way time is ticking by it'll soon be here Was good to catch up with a few folk and i've discovered that there's a full set of Leyland Syncro 4wd's 462,472 and 482 not that far from me in the Valley
  4. Princess?? the old cheese wedge hahhaha showing your age there abit Sean must have been a few moons ago.... Cheers Martin the 74 sounded as well as she looked, although the 6/98's weren't far behind in the the nice noise stakes..... just a pity i couldn't have got a few more photo's before the rains came
  5. Not exactly part of my collection but i do have a couple of 16th versions.........Spotted this at Flookburgh yesterday at the Cumbria Steamfair, The tractor measured up by Russell and Brian that they built and based their Nuffield 10/60 on, Un-fortunatley they never reproduced the sliding hubs and long halfshafts on the rear axle but here's KPY 280E in all her glory
  6. Had a wander about up at the Cumbria Steamfair yesterday, met up with a few familiar faces and had a bit of a catch up and a couple of brews with big Dave Steele, but the few rain showers dampened the event although there was still plenty of dust to be had behind the discs in the working field, didn't manage to get many photo's but here's a couple before the rains came. Some of the traders sheeted up their stalls and some were even packing up with the threat of more rain today Forum member Andy Thompsons (andythejoiner) new toy a Ford 7600, And the sad reality that many an old Nuffield has ended it's working life out in Morecambe Bay on cockle picking duty, favoured by the pickers for it's higher ground clearance and also its higher speed for out on the sands when the tides start turning,
  7. Busy times again for you Smithy, at least now your getting to see the fruits of your labour with the store filling up and your sheds stacked with hay
  8. Big boots indeed Joe.... though they must not be fitted to reduce ground compaction in this crop of whatever it is, everything seems to be well shod apart from the artic bulker, a loaded artic sat on super singles and 315's won't do much good towards compaction if it was an issue. Good to see you caught those rear eject elevating trailers in action again
  9. Cheers John there's nowt wrong with admitting you like a bit of blue That 955 belongs to a good friend of John (jmd), it's a good clean tidy tractor and sounds well too No bother Martin Maybe i should have taken a few more and had it's own topic in the events and shows bit but there's always next year, although next year there was talk of them trying to organise a theme and group a specific brand together or put them in age related groups so visitors see tractors a bit better organised.
  10. Cheers Martin one or two folk made a nice comment or two, which was good for it's first outing. Thoughts did cross my mind to try and broker a deal on a full set, but i've bought tyres off Roadrunner before and Andy seems to look after you price wise, last 2 sets of BF's for the defenders came off him as did the BF's on the freelander so i sure when the time comes for the replacement 34's he'll sort them at a decent deal
  11. Well her first outing now under her belt to Goosnargh and Longridge Ag show yesterday, discussion was had with Andy at Roadrunner tyres who had a stand opposite the tractors, he said he could do a good price on a pair of 12.4x28's for the front so that could be the next purchase on the list
  12. As mentioned above had the 804 her first outing yesterday, a couple of photo's from local ag show, Matt with a bit of help from his dad (jmd) were exhibiting too with a tidy 2wd 7610, along with Matt's field display in the YFC tent
  13. Not really "What have i been doing today" but more last sunday, went to catch an hour of the Leyland Tractor Pulling Club at a local rally, a couple of majors were in attendance too as were a couple of Foden truck pullers from York and Whitby, here's a couple of photo's of a couple of the tractors, i've a bit of video footage too when i can work out how to edit the clips to the good bits hahha Local Ford and Roadless collector Ian Chadwick was there playing with his V8 Major And today i plan taking my 804 for it's first show, looking forward to a good day, Photos later
  14. As above, Great photo's John ..... although the dirty and dusty looking Case is definatley not like you and your OCD
  15. Some cracking photo's there Martin nice combo of the FC and your 819 though would take a good man with a bit a practice to hit the trailer with the pick up hitch first time on the chopper when drag filling.... by the now arrival of a 32nd scale version of your 76.... does that mean the full sized one will be getting a bit of a freshen up to match? That teagle trailer would be just the job with a JF stuck between the chassis rails for a Toucan, a bit of a blast from the past....
  16. That's almost the start of a Bluepower working day Martin just a pity you didn't have your 4000 out in the foreground ..... Good to see your 15 back in action and your 78 looks great on it's new boots
  17. Haha the number plate already has my name on John...... well initials at least Don't need to do owt too flash, just be a single lucas beacon, in keeping with the age of her.....if there was an aftermarket kit for a passenger seat then the obvious choice of extra would be Rachel Riley as a seat cover...... Too bling for me Stan.... looks good on custom trucks but not the right thing for a classic tractor Cheers Hajo There will be places in the UK that don't see many of them either, but it's nice to have something that's a little bit different.
  18. Cheers Jack Something abit different, although not a "Blue" she might end up with a pair of Ford rear rims as Martin (mb86) kindly measured his up on his 7610 and they are the right stud pattern and centre to fit the Marshall, so it might make it abit easier to find a set of 34's if the Leyland/Marshall rims are abit thin on the ground.... Thanks Smithy She's one ticked off on the bucket list, It's took a while but got there in the end, Think the bigger tyres and possibly a beacon will help finish her off and put my mark on her..... though i've got her booked into the tractor section of a local Ag show in a fortnight to give her a first proper outing
  19. Not too sure about it's stay in Devon Sean, When Brian got her she was in the same condition as she was at Cambridge and was Brian that tidied her up and put her back into work Cheers Gav by the sounds of it then, she's been on fairly good ground most of her working life, hence the lack of rot in the cab and rear mudguards, It's all interesting stuff adding to the story now knowing she was registered in Norfolk, log book states new at first registration 1/12/83. Thats one thing about a Leyland engine, be it turbo'd or not they have a exhaust note all of their own.
  20. Aye John, Brian did a good bit of work tidying her from her original condition, He used her to do some topping and also had her on a set of harrows last back end after the refurb but commented that she felt abit bouncy with being a short tractor, the XL series were 8" longer in the wheelbase so i guessed that was the reason for the original frame extention to get it to handle like the farms XL when weighted up. Now thats been removed and 8 wafers added she seems fairly good on the road and not too bad for bouncing.... might be a different story with something hung on the linkage but time will tell with that one.
  21. And how she was the first time i saw her back in Janurary 2017 at Cambridge.......before she went down to Devon.....
