  3. Out of interest what is a Yellow Siku Deutz DX 6.31 with back actor/digger mint boxed worth? Thanks all.
  4. Had to chuckle!!! Has to be the best 'sell' I have ever seen!! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SCALE-MODEL-IFOR-WILLIAMS-HORSE-BOX-TRAILER-BRITAINS-a_W0QQitemZ370275082485QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_ToysGames_DiecastVehicles_DiecastVehicles_JN?hash=item56361d60f5
  5. I think the differences are a bit blurred nowadays. In my humble a few years ago a floatation would be something over 1000mm ish (often called 'Terra Tyres'). Low Ground Pressure could apply to just about any tyre at a low pressure. You could argue that a 540, or even narrower tyre, was LGP if at a low enough pressure........... .....you could debate the toss over and over......
  6. Andy. I will echo Barrys' comments - thats what is all about for me too! I will likely never come across, let alone afford such a lovely set so thank you very much for sharing it with us! You lucky bu**er!
  7. Thanks mate. As I thought just another 'Britainsism'! Still thats what I like about collecting the POS items......
  8. One of my Spalding purchases was a 2002 'flyer' from Britains titled 'Britains is Back'. Not having seen one of these before i thought it was worth a quid. Inside there are the details of all the 2002 new releases including a picture for the 1CX and 3185 Collectors editions. However the box shown below each is silver and says 1135 on it? My gut tells me this was just a mock-up for the catalogue but, does anyone know if a 1135 Collectors edition actually made it to retail?? Cheers all.
  9. Sorry for the shameless advertising but when I did mine I put a realistic beacon on................. PM me if you need any......
  10. ERTL Case 5230 with loader Case Maxxum with loader Ford 8630 Ford 8870 with loader All MIB and reasonably priced.......
  11. Dont think so Tris - unless the forager one is the same as the Xerion - which I doubt..........
  12. By heck - now that is a reply and a half - thanks pr! I think its fair to say you have a quite considerable depth of knowlege - cheers ears!
  13. Could someone put me right as to which Cresent this is?? It has been repainted at some point so that's why I am confused - nothing new there then!!
  14. Just bumping this to ask which has the best detailed cab - need one for a project - not worried about the rest of it. Also the 'removability' of said cab?
  15. Most of the recent TV stuff has been done wth APG (Anglia Peas Growers) machinery. If anyone has seen the 'Monsters of the Pea Field' DVD APG kit is filmed on that. They were out again filming this year - god knows why - they must have hours upon hours of footage by now
  16. Seen that on standard models too - only JD though.
  17. There is a Doe version - have seen the advertising in a couple of Doe dealerships. Though I think it is just the plinth etc. though something is telling me there is a signature on the model too.............could be wrong, I often am!!
  18. Appeared only in the 2004 and 2005 catalogues from what I can see, so I would guess only in production for a similar amount of time.
  19. There is something about those FC's I have always liked. What's the history behind it??
  20. Sorry to be an old git - but as Mr average, with average dosh available and more importantly average SPACE, I wouldn't have anywhere to put something like the Volto. And that is obviously so not a carpet tool so I would imagine that the market would be small to say the least. Why not appeal to the little guys????
  21. As eloquent a review as I have ever read! Well put and thank you for the review.
  22. You cynic Ben!! But I would aggree that there is a fair over-lap of content. To be fair though (much as it interests me) once the britains-of-old story is told there isn't a huge amount more to go at. Of course the other side to any duplication is that hopefully there is a greater readership of this magazine, some who might not have had F+S and/or have known the Britains history descibed. \
  23. A colleague just came back from Cornwall and said it was swarming with them. Must be the warm weather and strong winds......
  24. The problem I have with the drilling of Vining Peas, is the need to get to moisture and a consistant depth. A suffolk type coulter is fine - but doesn't maintain a consistant depth - the reason why we moved away from them several years ago. In the last 3 or so years I have seen about half a dozen different 'new and improved' drills tried out on peas and we still use only two types, namely the Vaderstad Rapid and the Herrieau Precision drill. In my humble you will not find a better 'all round' drill than the Vaderstad Rapid.
  25. Update on the trial we had with this drill again yesterday - PANTS! To expand, there is a serious design flaw with the coulter which basically means it wont 'cut' into the ground. The land was ploughed in the autumn then pressed, about 5 weeks ago, with a Vaderstad Rexius and then moved again with a Vaderstad NZ Agressive right in front of the drill and the flipping thing still wouldn't drill peas to 2 inches!!! So in my humble opinion it is £65,000's worth of scrap metal!!! Needless to say if I never see it again, that will be far too soon!!
