  1. I see you were born in the year after the world cup win. Was your old man a football fan? You see there is an exceptance that after a good win, several conceptions occur as, man gets drunk woman sees opportunity to start/increase family :D :D Back on topic - you'd need some serious arm muscles to keep a bit of kit like that going all day - not like a strong thumb to operate todays bushwhackers!
  2. Nice job there - least you won't lose it at night
  3. Hint - thats because they are still making them!!!!!!
  4. yeh me too, along with all the other things - yellow county, yellow valmet 805 etc, etc. :'(
  5. I might be wrong but i think the powerfarm power harrow was only made for one year 1988-1989. The other aspect which makes it more desirable is that i believe that it was made before the standard ie. the standard is the powered one without the pto enabled - if that makes sense
  6. As per the title. I rarely see these come up on Ebay so does anyone have an idea on value. It is the standard agricultural one with plastic yellow tipper and green cab in a nearly mint straw box. Thanks all , Andy
  7. Could someone help with a couple of values, as I haven't seen the below to guage what they are worth. Yellow Deutz DX? with yellow back actor MIB Fendt Favourit 612 LSA - the one similar to the Britains version. MIB Thanks very much, Andy
  8. Has anyone any inside info on the Vaderstadt yet - there is usually a well informed soul here abouts
  9. I would suggest so. When i bought a subscription they started it from the Jan issue - a calender year sub., however i rang them to say that i had already got the issue. Old Pond were good to be fair and said to post it back to them and my sub would start from when i wanted it. I think unless you state otherwise especially if it is near the year start they will automatically start it from the beginning of the calender year.
  10. Been there too - now that was how to have fun ;D ;D
  11. I remember spending hours on the front of a Howard rotavator going round field margins. That was in the days when we farmed into the ditch not 1-2 metres away from it!
  12. They still have a place in todays farming. The old stuff is always the best, sometimes during drilling, modern kit is too aggressive or too heavy for a spring seedbed. I have a number of growers who will use something like this drag to level out over wintered ploughing. Useing their lightest tractors leaving it level but rough/ridged enough to dry out if needed. Even had a 6000 acre grower fabricating a 6m one like that because he couldn't buy one!
  13. Thats right. I have seen several colours on all models - thus far metallic red, blue, silver, grey, green, claas green, i think that's it. Best not let UH see this otherwise there will be another variation out tomorrow!!!!
  14. To expand on that, it's European rules that our beloved govt. interpret to make it far more difficult for us here in England. The Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish have far better ways of doing things even though they are bound by the same rules, it's just that Labour want us to be Park Rangers and Conservationalists rather than feed the country. Must stop cos this is way off topic.........sorry.
  15. ;D ;DGot it I got it hooooooorrrrraaaaayyy! On a serious note from what i have read here, it is better than i expected, good content for a troublesome first issue. Editorial will no doubt improve and features extended/expanded so i am happy. To all those who haven't yet recieved it then you hopefully wont have long to wait, to those who don't get it - do. At the end of it, the magazines' future is in our (the customers') hands so give it a try - there isn't another one to choose!
  16. Hate to be picky but Peas don't require Nitrogen and MCPB doesn't control Grass weeds, only broad leaved.
  17. Essentially they are a bigger version of the mounted ones that are more common. However as has been said before you can spread lime and products such as Limex or Fibrophos with them as you can get the higher rates on because of the capacity
  18. Thanks F-P very interesting read and i'm sure inspiring to those who might have thought twice about starting a project - me included.
  19. As its a question i didn't post this in F-P's topic. Does anyone know a colour match for modern/current MF wheel and cab colours, I don't fancy buying a pot from Massey due to hell freezing over before i would use it all.
  20. I totally agree with you, thats one of the reasons why i subscribe and bought all the back issues that i didn't have recently. I still haven't had mine tho!

    power harrow

The new waste management rules. I don't know the real ins and outs but folks had 12 months to store waste after several 'prefered' methods (burning etc,) were banned. Thereafter there are only a few outlets for farm waste - usually outlets that charge a lot of money!
  22. I don't believe Vicon made a trailed one at the time Britains first brought this out, they had it trailed so the spout would waggle. That is the later version having the little notches for the gritting sign to fit. Obviously the farm ones had the notches also from that point onwards. There also used to be a 'handle' attatched to the early verions as would the real thing, to open the shutter for the fert to come out.
  23. Basically we start drilling as soon as poss in March then drill right through to the end of May hopefully not into June too much. Then harvest usually kicks off mid June (depending on when we started drilling) running through to mid August. Thats it in a nutshell. The rest of the year is time to take holiday . We start planning the next harvest before the current one ends so it is the ongoing job of planning it all through the winter.
