  1. Too right, the indignity of it all
  2. Didn't have a camara but saw a Agrifac 9 row the other day - first time i have seen one. They don't half clear the acres!!
  3. That is useful Ben. What would be even more useful is a table for OEM colours and their modeller (Humbrol, Tamyia etc.) equivalents. I know you can get pots from the dealers but they are too big for me who might only use the colour once in a blue moon.
  4. I think the 8 metre Rapid in this country is about ?65k list (dont take that for gospel tho) so i would think they might be a little more than that!!!!
  5. A grower of mine got a 75C and 8 metre Rapid stuck and needed a 360 to get it out - digging down to the plough pan to make a 30m long track for it to drive out!
  6. Not got many then eh? How do you keep that lot clean? Big feather duster i bet!
  7. I'd aggree with that, looks like there would be the smell of burning rubber after that! Mind you bonfire night is an excuse for burning tyres (on the QT), but they are generally removed from the wheels!!!

    Hitches

Having had Britains models now for over 20 years it strikes me that progress is finally being made in model introduction and detail, after a poor start under RC/RC2. However, my most recent purchase has been the JD 8340T which is a great model for display or towing, but if i were 20 years younger and tried to hitch up something that is relevant in size to todays machinery, i would not be successfull. In short the current 'Britains' hitch system at best, is not up to todays standards and more realistically, has made a backwards step. By way of not being a moaner without suggestion, some way to rectify this would be to have a positive locking 'slot' as (dare i say it) both Siku and UH have.
  9. Hi Nigel - just looked at a couple of spares i have and both have two. One at the front of the casting and the other just in front of the rear axle if that makes sense. Both could be easily concealed if the tractor were split. Andy
  10. Am i alone in starting to give up hope, or am i impatient???
  11. Definately, the detail is top notch considering the price, to be fair you could say that of all UH stuff. It has firmly jumped into my top three modern favourites.
  12. No Old Spice - i think i've another couple of years before the inevitable whiff of the 80's comes my way The UH Fendt 818 was the choice. It's the first Fendt i have and be jesus is it good. I have several other UH's but just fancied this one.
  13. Thanks all, another year another worry line. Still it is nice to be a part of the forum and know that you can imerse yourself in another world for a little while. I think we all need that every now and again. Even better having met a member (FB) the other day - jolly nice chap too. Once again thank you and all the best. Andy
  14. Yeh there was a bit in farmers weekly of profi about Simba branching out. I might be wrong but i think someone else makes them, or the posh term is badge engineering.
  15. Cracking collection - thats just the inside stuff!!!!! Muchos impresoss
  16. Nice work there, that is one i want to have a go at when i'm a little better. Where did you get those mirrors from or if you made them, could i ask how?
  17. A boy racer's 306. It seems that the 'boy' had forgotten to use the steering wheel at a roundabout and connected with a sign. Down side of this is that it reminded me the reason why my insurance premium keeps going up when i don't make any claims
  18. I think the scale of the Britains is about right and the updated bits that they havedone are about right. However, the front lights are incorrect and as has been said the tyres are a bit naff. But for conversion possibilities, it has potential. I have one because i spent two years driving nothing but Fastracs including the 3220 in pre release form. I don't have the Siku one but it has always seemed to me to be too long and not sitting right for the 2150 Perhaps its because it doesn't have front lights and the hitch sticks out a bit too far.
  19. In a nut shell...... MF 135's right through to 6290's and everything in between JD 2040s right through to 6920's and everything in between Ford 5610, 6600, 6610, 7610, 7810, 7840 and prob some others Case/DB some at some point Various loader from mast lifts to industrial telescopics and loading shovels JCB Fastrac all of them apart from the 8560 new one. Even had the job of on farm evaluation of one of the first three prototypes MB Tracs 900, 1100, 1200, 1300, 1500 beautifull machines McCormick CX105 and MTX 155 There are probably more but the memory isn't that sharp!
  20. Do well! Will have to raid the cleaning cupboard now, thanks guys.
  21. Like a dohnut when i was younger i decided that my white cabbed Britains 3680 should be silver. Now a lot older and a little wiser i would prefer it white. Does anyone have any ideas in how i would remove this paint without effecting the plastic, bearing in mind it was humbrol enamel paint i used. My feeling is that it's a long shot...but hey it's worth asking. Thanks in advance. Andy
  22. They are the predecessors to the 979 AT's which have now been superceded by the PMC 979 AC's That's how they park up with all the pressure off the self leveling. They also travel on road like that.
  23. joining them was fairly simple in using normal contacta glue. The difficult part was getting rid, (or trying), of the joint. I ended up joining them, then filing out a V so that i could fill it. Then a lot of filing again and filling, building the filler up in thin layers. I did strengthen the joints on the underside where possible with strips of plastcard.
