  1. Hi I doubt there are any old Moreau's still going, I certainly haven't seen one for a long time - I don't see much beet harvesting, though admittedly I don't really look; in the past it always coincided with hedge trimming which isn't very good for bike tyres. I have seen a Matrot near Ellesmere in the recent past, I imagine belonging to a contractor. Does anyone know the UK importers of Moreau, Matrot, Holmer and Verveat? Might write off and see if I can get some further info. Cheers, Joe
  2. Hi All, Would anyone have any photos of Moreau SP Beet Harvesters they could post, especially the older AT64 model? I've found a few here and there but not many and I just thought I'd ask if anyone on here might have any. I doubt there are that many still working these days, the one time I saw one working it was as and when it came out of the fog that hung around the place morning, noon and night! Cheers Joe
  3. Searching Farm Photo seems a fruitless task! Perhaps thats the price you pay for being a Sad (insert expletive of choice) Joe
  4. I've decided I may as well be an all out saddo so I've begun putting regs of Combines from photo sites/dealers etc into an excel list as well, so if anyone has any to add or knows of any dealer sites that might be worth a look I'd be grateful to hear from you. Now, where did I put my anorak? Joe
  5. The Laverda and International in the barn was taken at Hordley, the JD955 was behind Rednal aerodrome, along the river Perry (huge field, took ages to go around, so didn't get many photos of that!) Dominator 106 was at Bagley (Suckleys field) and the 85 was at Hordley opposite the ABP abbatoir. All taken in the early 1990s. Of the newer ones, the Deutz was taken at Ford, the JD WTS was at Nox, off the main Shrewsbury - Westbury road, the Lexion was at Condover and the CX820 at Welshampton. JD 1055 was at Tedsmore near Rednal (it replaced a Claas Consul). Hope that was all of them! Might have a few pix of a Deutx M36.10 minus header parked in a field somewhere as well out near Llangedwyn. Joe
  6. Hi, I have the Siku Holmer Beet Harvester, and am wondering what can be done to improve on the model - its not a bad likeness but could desperately do with some super detailing. I've painted the wheel hubs silver already, but they need the red centres as per the real thing. There is a photo of a superbly detailed one somewhere on Farm Photo but it was only small - has anyone else made any modifications to this model? Cheers, Joe
  7. Plenty going on between Ellesmere and Shrewsbury today - there was what looked like a New Holland CS combine working a few miles out of Ellesmere, then a few more miles away (and someway back off the road) I glimpsed a New Holland TF parked up in a field (rare round these parts!), then at Myddle (about halfway between the towns) was a CX going, and then on the outskirts of Shrewsbury a Dominator 86. Plenty of other activity as well, saw a field being subsoiled, and a Fendt and Claas Quadrant baling another field. Joe
  8. Hi All, Just snapped this from an upstairs window at my Parents house, sorry about the lamp post! Joe
  9. How much is the dutch barn? Joe
  10. So is that a grain tank extension then, or is the top fixed in that position? Joe
  11. Hi Again, Just seen this brute a few miles down the road, pictures aren't great due to standing on the side of the road, and it being a hilly field - heard the combines reversing buzzer going a few times while it was in the dips! Hope you like them anyway, shrunk to 32% of actual size! Joe
  12. Shame about the tracks (Ducks for cover!)
  13. OK shrunk the digital pix a bit so here goes nothing...
  14. Hi, Here are a few old Combine pix as promised. I took them off TTS, where I posted them last year, and apologies for the tiny file size! I have some digital pix of a Lexion 480, JQ WTS, JQ 1055 and Deutz M2680 but they are bigger than 115KB -any ideas? Hope you like them Joe
  15. Can anyone tell me how to post pix - I have nicked some of my own I posted on TTS that I will post here!! (If I can work out how!!) Be Warned - there are some JQ's amongst! Cheers, Joe
  16. Superb pics - I'm really getting interested in these Pea Viners now FP - I don't think there is any actual difference between FMC and PMC, they are the same company, but got renamed for some reason. Sounds like an interesting set up working all hours of the day but I expect can be a drag for the blokes doing the work. Joe
  17. They were both near Oswestry - the 307 was at a dealers (Shukers) and seemed to be there for ages - I should point out that I 'spotted' these over a number of years and the 307 was a long time ago. The 506 was P reg I think - but I did see it more recently, well within the last 10/12 years! There were a lot of others I wished I'd taken photos of - the Allis Chalmers 5000's and the BM Volvos for instance. I will try and post some old scans later, not sure if I've got anything that exciting though Joe
  18. I think I have a photo of one of the Bamford M132's in a barn with an International 431 but I'm afraid I don't have many pix, sorry. I will try and find what pix I have and scan some if you want to see them, All the best, Joe
  19. Excellent, they're the sort of photos I like to see. The evening/dusk ones are first class. Don't worry about the field being too far away, I think that sort of photo is great - gets all the scenery in. Joe
  20. Super pics, what part of the world were they taken in? Joe
  21. Unfortunately not; I only ever saw it in the field the one time, and it was broken down then! The neighbouring farm came to their rescue with their Clayson M133! I think the Bizon was sold soon after, the farm that owned it started using a Contractor to do their harvest. Joe
  22. Probably going to make a right t*t of myself now, but here goes. As a kid, I always noted the number plate of the combine as a way to ID it (which worked out quite handy when you could see a particular machine working over a wide area). Anyway, of all those I 'I-D'd' over the years, Claas won hands down; heres how they were spread: (all of these around North Shropshire/Wales Border, by the way) Claas - 47 New Holland - 31 Deere - 20 Bamford/Laverda/Fiatagri - 18 MF - 15 Deutz - 10 BM Volvo - 4 Clayson - 3 International - 3 Allis Chalmers - 2 Case IH - 1 Bizon - 1 If you want to know what the different models of each make were can post that as well, thats when you've stopped laughing at this incredibly sad individual Joe
