  1. Was that at the RWS , i saw it there. Its an American built MF 65 rowcrop with a petrol engine.
  2. http://www.agcoallis.com.ar/ Take a look at this website, Agco Allis Argentina. The tractors you have seen are as have been said before remnants from the Deutz/Allis Chalmers tie up that resulted in the formation of the AGCO corporation. Agco bought out Deutz's Argentinian operation and has gradually been modernising the products with an increasing amount of MF/Agco input. The tractors now lean heavily on MF components such as cabs and gearboxes, but still use in some models, deutz air-cooled engines.
  3. Another great build Sean, Brilliant as usual, but don't bother with the toolbox, just throw it away , the square mudguards had a toolbox built in each side, so the 35 type toolbox were never fitted.
  4. Brings back a few memories there, seeing the MF70 mower, I've still got one. Bought it in 1976 ,cost £1100 ,this was when you could buy a Fahr twin drum for £850. Mind you not many Fahr's were still going in 2002 and had never had a spanner on them apart from changing the blades. The old 70 was the best mower we every had and was only replaced with a 2.8 m Kuhn with a conditioner because we needed a bigger capacity. Reading what Jakescot says about the MF baler reminds me of the old Allis Chalmers rotabalers, the were awful things, in one field you could sail round and never have a stop, go into the next field and the crop would be jamming, wrapping aroud the belts and pulleys, and all sorts of problems. One local wag used to say, " you could never make bad hay with the Allis baler, because if it wasn't fit it wouldn't bale it".
  5. If you want to prevent wheel melt or stop it getting worse, you need a barrier between the wheels and the tyres, something like a clear acrylic varnish should do the trick.
  6. Can't agree with you there, sorry, the Britains wheels are basically accurate for the 1505, the tyres are c**p , but thats a different matter. New tyres on the existing wheels perhaps?
  7. Got my copy in the post today, looks pretty good for first issue, articles on classic MF combines, FE35 mounted forager, buying a 148, MF 1200 and the Harry Ferguson story, can't wait for the next issue [ sept].
  8. Last one of the Agcostar, you can really see the similarity here. and one of the McConnell-Marc 900, same as 5200 but with a 320hp Detroit Diesel Series60 motor.
  9. As you can see it's basically still the same tractor under the skin, same chassis and same cab frame, just updated.
  10. This is what the 5200 evolved into after AGCO took over McConnell, the Agcostar
  11. In a way your quite right to say it's badge engineered, as the tractors were built for MF by McConnell [uS], however , MF had previously sold the 4800 range tooling and rights to Ward McConnell. So the 5200, although not actually built by MF were in fact from a thoroughbred MF lineage. Later AGCO would buy the McConnell tractor company and uprate the 5200's as the Agcostar range of tractors
  12. Whatever you think of the look, someone's done a very neat job of it.
  13. http://www.farmtoysforum.com/forum/index.php?topic=18259.msg320283;topicseen#msg320283 Looks very similar to this one seen last year.
  14. I think "punk" is probably correct, that vintage of tractor would have been badged as a McCormick-Iternational.
  15. This is my farm truck, 1998 R reg RR 4.0 SE running on LPG, cost me less than a decent Landy the same age would have and is more comfortable.
  16. Why bother changing the wheels when the 5480 wheels are 99% accurate for a 6470, if you use the Landini chassis your convo will be nearer in size to a 6490.
  17. Massey 5480 and 6470 are almost exactly the same size, including same standard tyre fit, so I would suggest you just fit a siku 5455 bonnet onto the 5480 and renumber.
  18. Some great pics youv'e taken there, I like the flower pots on the seats to keep people from climbing on the tractors, much better that shouting at people to get off.
  19. How can it be overdetailed?, if the details on the real thing it should be on the model.
  20. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/rare-universal-hobbies-massey-ferguson-65-tractor_W0QQitemZ320249123828QQihZ011QQcategoryZ45359QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem This seems a lot of money for a UH 1/43 scale.
  21. Nice convos, I especially like the 595, Valtra based with a JD 4020 front axle by the look of it?
  22. I would think the ones without the three point hitch were probably intended for the US market only, with the models with hitch for Europe. You can still see this on many ERTL models today, especialy the pivot steers.
