  1. My latest aquisisions A sticker from between 1964 and 1979, I recon the late 60's. 375 mm x 70 mm Toymaster poster A3 size, from 1987 as all pictures are used in the 1987 catalogue only. Also posted by another member A shop sales aid. There should be a small, clear plastic I think, holder for catalogues but this is missing. Its quite big, being nearly 1500 mm high 550 mm wide and about 400 mm deep The item in the final two photographs should be familiar to anyone who went to Toytrac in November when Britains/Tomy were in attendance. Did anyone win anything?
  2. I, vaguely, remember buying this book from the author at the Bill Richardson event, probably when new out, doesn't time fly. I have bought one or two lots of models and missed one or two bargains in the intervening years
  3. You could try here http://www.kitformservices.com/supplies.html although they do not give sizes but worth asking
  4. I have just read a book about Boy Soldiers Of The Great War by Richard Van Emden. The very first recorded casualty for the British Army was an under age infantry man, Private John Parr aged 17 years and 33 days who died on 21st August 1914. He was a regular having enlisted in 1912. There were many more and even younger although a lot of these were weeded out before being sent over seas.
  5. Richard has your Bomford dozer blade got a serial/model number plate on it? Also does it have any decals/markings to the back of the blade? Reason for asking is I removed one from my 1124 and there appeared to be some decals/markings to the back of the blade but now virtually all gone, there is no serial/model number plate affixed anywhere or any obvious attachment point. At some point its going back on and I would like to re-decal/mark it. On the plus side it does have a golf ball jammed in the frame work! Did anyone else go to the Conversions Day on 30th September?
  6. Tim, I had posted what it was a model of, in my first accidentally deleted post It is in the title though. I mentioned the Deutz connection as there is a mention of this manufacturer on the box Tech specs . I'll be interested in what your sister in law translates.
  7. ...........last pictures. This being some wording on the tyre and the supplier for any one interested I do not know the manufacturer, can't read Russian, but presume it to be Russian FIN
  8. Out of the box............ The notes are a few Roubles, quite a few of these to the pound!
  9. I thought this might interest some of you. My parents took a Russian river cruise holiday back in the summer. At one of there stops they purchased this and I received it as a birthday present. As they say a picture speaks a thousand words, box first ......... The real deal appears to be based on a Deutz engine/platform. Someone here will most likely know
  10. £8.99!!!!!!!!!!!!! where are you finding all these bargain priced Britains Bill? Do I win the prize for "First to spot the mistake by someone" Deutz is/was upside down in box or is it box is upside down around Deutz?
  11. Autoway was deleted end of 1986 and replaced in 1987 by the Road Series. This limped along to the end of 1991 with the loss of quite a few of the original Autoway range and the addition of some new models. It's a distinct possibility that they were using up models soon to be deleted, although 3000 sets seems a lot of soon to be discontinued models. Ho hum, another to seek out For a range that lasted longer than what it replaced they do not appear to come up for sale as much. I stand to be corrected in here.... I can't find two combine sets in the trade cats, but that doesn't mean that there aren't two, could be for overseas markets. Would be interesting to see both side by side and the cat. no. I'm sure that Andy's dad had one or two of those Police sets at Spalding earlier this month.
  12. Not found in any trade catalogue, I have. I reckon this to be from 1985, but it is not even in the trade order form, for January, of that year. The Volvo tractor was first released in yellow with snow plough in the farm range in 1983 as part no. 9590 with black decals as before. Autoway came out in 1984 and the trade catalogues show the Volvo and Deutz with black deals, again as before. The '85 catalogue has the Deutz with red decals and this set comes with a Volvo with red decals. The Volvo was deleted at the end of 1985, replaced by the Valmet. The Land Rover has a canvas canopy and mirrors on the wings, in 1986 the casting was revised, altered or replaced by one with either a truck cab or hard top, flat front, mirrors on doors and a tailgate or door to rear. This brought about a change in the part no. from 9811 to 9820(truck cab) hard top only available with a trailer of some description. The dump truck received a very subtle change to the rear mudguards but retained its part number 9810, until it became a a 99xx number in the Road Series. There was another Autoway boxed set from 1986 as part no.9891. This appears to be just as rare. It would be intersting to know what the part no. is for this box set, either in the 98xx series or perhaps in the 5xxx series(is it?) as per the value packs. Where did you get your information regarding 3000 sets Bazzza? There is also the NH combine set, got me one of those
  13. Nice buy, shame about the missing cab. I have a "Sample Copy" marked Police Helicopter in the usual style of box for this item. It has slight differences to the production version. Also a Road Series Mercedes Unimog with Pipe trailer, I think, marked with the same little Sample Copy sticker. It has different decals on it, I do not have a production version to compare with. Will post pictures when able, working away........

    Cultivator colours

Thanks Sean, but would really like to see BC's yellow version of this cultivator unless I have misunderstood the post!

    Cultivator colours

Can someone point me in the right direction for this, assuming there is a picture. Thanks
  16. Did you call? I don't know too much about these other than straight legs to, as you put it, fit boxes, and splayed legs which came boxed all on there lonesome. the Autoway version only ever came in the splayed leg version as far as I am aware, unless someone knows different of course Okay, I looked in a few trade catalogues for you, here goes; 1984 9838 Autoway version was shown with splayed legs and all over in yellow with black rams and bucket. It is an obvious mock up/pre-production model 9598 with TW20. With splayed legs and an all over green finish with red bucket and rams. Again a mock up/pre-production model as above 9536 details as 9598 above (no tractor) same colour, right through to end of production, deleted end of 1992 1985 9838 Autoway with splayed legs, black frame, yellow dipper and bucket and red rams 9598 with TW20/7710, straight legs, blue frame and rams, orange dipper and bucket 9603 Volvo BM 2554, straight legs, silver frame, red rams, yellow dipper and bucket. Deleted end of year 1986 9613 Deutz Dx92 & Front Loader System, straight legs, dark grey frame, red dipper and bucket, yellow rams 9598 Ford 7710 as above (1985) deleted end of year 1987 9613 Deutz Dx92 as above (1986) silver frame, yellow dipper and bucket, red rams, 760 badge to side of dipper, deleted end of 1988 This is by no means exhaustive, see previous posts. I was under the, mistaken, impression that the 760 decals were used after production of the combine had moved to Macau, but this did not happen until 1998 approximately, and the rear digger was dropped well before this. With regard the colour variations, this is most likely Britains using up old stocks of parts. They always command a highish price on eBay in my experience Fin
  17. G+M, I believe, had a load of these when new.................... £15 each I think, at Stourpaine. That looks ridiculously cheap now, but wasn't back then. Okay I bought more than one
  18. These Speedwell et all ones are they marked? I have a version of the black farmer, I think, in brown plastic with a little bit of paint for features, waistcoat, boots, walking stick and base. There are no markings on it at all. Photo to follow........
  19. I have a Sarsons lamb on base with the little piece of bent tin attached, have you the clockwork Bo-Peep as I would like to know what it looks like? I have seen the Nestle cow go for much cheaper than £150, that's way over price I reckon. There are two versions of the plastic Johnnie Walker figure aside from the little lead one. First one by Herald, as labled underneath. The second by Britains, again as labled underneath. The Johnnie Walker inscription is also a different colour on the plinth, with the Herald one with red text and the Britains one black text. The Triang horses seem to be difficult to find, most likely the larger scale and cost, so selling fewer items. The tails are also susceptible to breaking off! I'll add a picture in the next couple of days..........memory willing
  20. Heres mine http://www.farmtoysforum.com/forum/index.php?/topic/1808 And the other http://www.farmtoysforum.com/forum/index.php?/topic/18075
  21. The biggest spanner in my tool box is ME Where I'm currently working they were using a spanner with a 5' length of scaffold pole the other day to tighten up the nuts on the base of a crane
  22. Shawnee Poole rear dump, only with the Industrial Major, timber trailer and not forgetting the most important implement of all, the driver with pipe in blue or grey. This is all assuming that you mean the E1A Major!
  23. In answer to your question, yes (both versions) and rare, especially over here. I hadn't realised that the MMB ones were going for that amount of money, have a nice boxed one going spare too
