  1. Getting properly set up to move the big animals indoors for the winter before next weeks cold spell. The downside was not being careful enough handling the barley straw. Lots of minor itching going on right about now.
  2. I passed the New Holland dealer today and there was a shiny 20 series John Q parked in the trade-ins area. Gavin might be onto something.
  3. What disc harrow, grubber, subsoiler, rotary hoe and planter do you use? What tractors do you put under them?
  4. Have you seen this post on the AgriMods website? Matériels et diorama pour le stockage des pommes de terre
  5. TE20 wouldn't start, so I had to cart all the dung to the compost heap with a wheelbarrow. Really must get a Dexta.
  6. From looking at the manufacturers websites (Grimme, Reekie, Etc.), and at videos on YouTube, there are lots of different ways of doing it - primarily due to the soil conditions I imagine. I'm interested in reading how different people do it so we can see how a 1:32 potato outfit could be pulled together. Here's a pic of a very tidy outfit from France. Wouldn't mind that combo behind the T7070.
  7. It is a very long time since I observed commercial potato growing up close, so I'm looking for some advice from those with first hand knowledge - particularly Gav. What are the various ways of preparing the soil for potatoes, what kit is used, in what combinations, and what horsepower do you need for the various bits of kit. I've been looking at YouTube and there seems to be no consistency. On the other hand, I have found some videos with serious kit at work, such as this series. The outcome from this thread should ideally be a recommendation of what current 1:32 kit lends itself to potato growing, and what 1:32 kit we need to see made in order to enable carpet potato farming in 1:32.
  8. My recollection is that OW bought Brimonts. Don't remember Le Boulch.
  9. I've just re-written my letter to Santa, and I've crossed the two Miedema HST 175s off the list and added a pair of these Kanes instead. I still need a >20 tonner for the T7070 though, and the Dangreville is topping that list at present.
  10. Ford 7810 Lovely Jubly, NH T7070, Gregoire Besson Planidisk.
  11. Sounds good, but I doubt you will show the proper degree of enthusiasm for the magnificent, awesome, and fantabulous Ford 5000 rebuild. Thanks for the offer all the same
  12. Got distracted in the local bookshop a couple of weeks ago and forgot to buy Classic Tractor. Went back today and it was sold out. Will try the City tomorrow and see if I can get one.
  13. FX58 with Kemper header, two MX170s with 18ft Smyths, and a Volvo loader heading from Clonroche to cut maize in Macmine.
  14. When that gammy green thing on the toppers breaks down make sure they get a T6090. The dogs dangliest tractor since County went out of business.
  15. Put the TE20 back in the shed and built the first pen in the yard. Tomorrow will either go digging spuds at my allotment back home, or build another pen. Decisions, decisions!
  16. New Holland TM on an Amazone Catros, followed by another TM with a Kverneland 4 sod reversible plough, followed by a TS135a with an Amazone combi-drill at Drinagh. Great to see so much blue in one field.
  17. Was in Newbawn the other day and the 7910 is well and truly retired. However I did get these pictures of three of the 7810s.
  18. John Q 7920 in Adamstown. So they do exist in real life!
  19. Getting a chance to catch up on FTF for the first time in two weeks. Can't wait to see what Sean does to the 3080.
  20. My list is growing faster than I can afford to shorten it. T7070 T6020 7810 SJ 5000 6X 6640 SL 4wd Fiat 110-90 NH 110-90 Fiat 180-90 Fiat 1580 MF1200 Fendt 824 Fendt 828 Fendt 626
  21. I also saw a 10 registered Krone Big M yesterday. I thought the Banks weren't lending?
  22. Numerous and assorted TSAs and T6000s. Also saw a T5000 for the first time. Absolutely immaculate 7610 III 4wd Massey 3085 2wd. John Q 6910 and Heath Superchaser.
  23. How did you get on with the New Holland?
