  1. Was just finished tilling the bottom paddock when the TE20 misfired. I ran up to the house to get the can of diesel, ran back, opened the fuel filler and just as as I opened the lid on the can, the engine cut out. Bother! Anybody any tips for bleeding the fuel line on a TE 20 diesel? (then I opened my email and found I hadn't even got an interview for a job I applied for). Me and Mr Heineken are going to get together this evening
  2. County did Leylands and Internationals with equal-wheel 4wd, and they did high clearance Masseys.
  3. Andy had a rough one at Spalding a number of years ago and I'm still kicking myself that I didn't bring it home with me. I have a 50D, 50HX and 860. The 50B would complete the set.
  4. Neither did John Deere, and it's not to long ago that NH went in the opposite direction, but now they all seem to be standardising. Apples:Apples
  5. What is strange? Class 7, rev 6, 190 hp = 7619 Class 7, rev 6, 240 hp = 7624 Not quite as elegant as the T7.270, but I'm sure some people will appreciate it.

They were a common enough combine in Ireland in the 70s and 80s. I remember seeing a pair of them still working on a big farm outside Naas in the mid 90s.
  8. The Buttle brothers are farmers and businessmen in Wexford. Back in the 80s they had a big business importing 2nd hand tractors, diggers, combines and other machines. They often put their name on the cabs of machines like that.
  9. A question for the Fiat geeks. The Fiat 90 Series was on the market for the best part of 20 years in various forms. What were the main changes to the range over this time, and how are these reflected in the models produced by ROS, Repliagri and Mad for Models?
  10. The rest are down your neck of the woods actually. John Q and Dommy were on Begerin, TX near the monument, and Deutz near Camaross.
  11. Loads of combines fired up today - and my camera decided to go on the blink.
  12. Harvest kicked off today around these parts. Five New Holland 15*0s working in the same field. I think four of them were 1530s, and the fifth was a 1540. Two New Holland 8070s working in a field across the road from the 1500s. One New Holland TX65. John Q 1075 and Dominator 105 working in the same field. Deutz Combine (too far back from the road)
  13. Has anyone tried dropping a Britains or Siku DX bonnet onto a Weise 130 06?
  14. LCN is --- THE --- Show. If only go to Holland once, go to the LCN Show at Zwolle. It'll blow you away.
  15. Passed the local New Holland dealer today and he has a yardful of secondhands. 2xMF 7495s, MF5455, John Q 6820, and an MXM120. At least one of the 7495s (the KE reg one, for those 'round these parts) has come out of a yard that I've never seen Basildon Beauties in before. Lots of IH, Valtra, MF, Fendt, John Q, and Claas, but never a Blue. I'm assuming that means there are a couple of T7000 AutoCommands out there in the wild. That makes me happy.

  17. If you tipped silage with that trailer you'd end up with the hitch coming in the back window of the cab beside you. The wheelbase is too short. Silage tends to stick in the trailer until it is pretty much vertical. This means that the entire weight ends up pressing down behind the axle, putting upward pressure on the hitch. Silage trailers generally have their axles set back as far as possible to minimise this problem. Here's a vid showing what can happen. Grain trailers, on the other hand, tend to spend a lot of time on the road going to and from grain intake points, so dedicated grain trailers tend to have shorter wheelbases, making them better balanced, so they minimise the lightness of the front of the tractor, thus avoiding bounce on the road.

    hauling hp

If it's a Ford 7610 or 7810, then 12 tonnes is no bother, or even 14. If you come up the years, to a 40 series, you would easily haul 12 tonnes with an 85hp 6640. The Fiat 110-90 would pull 12 tonnes all day, as long as you keep the revs up. Not sure about the second string brands.
  19. Me too. These were brought back into production by Steyr due to popular demand, and are proper Steyr tractors, not a CNH common platform. More popular on these Islands as the Case CS range back in the day. Hmmm, possible replacement for SPN farms 7610 and 7710?
  20. How do the ROS and Britains T7000s compare. Do they look okay together?
  21. The new Britains 5000 (42196) has a representation of the 14x34 wheels, but the old Britains 5000 had the 36" wheels like the 4000. The 38s on the UH 5000 would be too big for a 4000.
  22. Can't wait to see that. Would suggest using Britains 9527 Ford 5000 wheels rather than the UH wheels, as the UH is a representation of the 38" wheels, and the Britains the 36". The Fritzmieir was a lovely cab, although the bar a cross the back nearly killed a lot of people who were trying to attach implements to the 3 point and reached underneath it to adjust the quadrant.
