ihatepoundland
I like the look of this a lot and will certainly be buying one. I've never seen one in action (only seen two FW30s at shows) but then I've probably not seen 95% of UH's implements (and an increasing number of their "niche" tractors) in operation, so I have no issue with the need for the relevance of this tractor to the UK collector. Chris Taylor
So isn't this the same as a Steiger series IV? It has the IV grill
Lexion580
Britains look like they may be taking a nice step forward with this model.

FordTractorCrazy
So isn't this the same as a Steiger series IV? It has the IV grill Ford gave Steiger an order to build articulated tractors for them which was the FW series, so you are right, as Steiger made their models for various other manufacturers too. 1/32collector
i will be getting one of these as it will go with my classic tractors ie ford 5000, 7000, 7600, dexta, major and so on. you dont see them working over here but there is one doing the classic tractors shows

But over here I have never seen a FW that has the IV grill. They all Had the III grill.
Simon
That grille does look more like the later Case version than any Ford one I've seen... how ironic that the brands are now one and the same....
The Tractor Twitcher
yes Im well aware of that. But over here I have never seen a FW that has the IV grill. They all Had the III grill. Pictures of the real deal at Amtrac in the North of England: http://www.amtrac.co.uk That grille does look more like the later Case version than any Ford one I've seen... how ironic that the brands are now one and the same.... Here's a link to a picture of a Case IH 9190 and information showing the similar styling ( just a much more powerful tractor ) on the toytractorshow website. I've also read in a book somewhere that after Steiger launched the revised tractors with the angled bonnet line and new cab the Tiger IV with this type of styling remained in the line up on a strictly built to order basis. http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.toytractorshow.com/9190.h16.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.toytractorshow.com/9190.htm&usg=__KGTg0N0DqYNA6ZEJ3mQK0dz7FZ8=&h=421&w=925&sz=69&hl=en&start=1&tbnid=GMmCatlawm2AlM:&tbnh=67&tbnw=147&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dcase%2B9190%26gbv%3D2%26hl%3Den

ihatepoundland
There must have been quite a few FW60s in the UK if that AMTRAC site is correct; "One of the last of 27 Autos to come to the UK." Maybe they all went East
MDFord
I'll probably get one, I like these big old beasts
CX820Joe
It looks a lot better than the FW-30 (which I still like all the same), glad its not just one of them with different stickers on
CX820Joe
Me again I can understand how these big 4wds don't have mass appeal, but I love them, particularly the older 1970's/80's types - I would really like to see this or the FW-30 in Steiger colours after reading the articles about these tractors in the UK in CT last year - I even thought of suggesting it might make a nice limited edition from someone...but perhaps it won't appeal that widely this side of the pond. ERTL did the STEIGER Panther (Dual wheels) & COUGAR (Super singles) around the same time as their original FW60... all the same casting. CX820Joe
G&M have these listed on their site now, and have some for sale on ebay, where you can see a piccy of one in the box. Might take a trip into town and see if the shop there has them, and then break my farm model drought! Heres the link to the ebay one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1-32-Britains-Ford-FW-60-Tractor-NEW_W0QQitemZ260436075608QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_ToysGames_DiecastVehicles_DiecastVehicles_JN?hash=item3ca3332458&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A1688%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A0%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50 Looks to have a decent hitch rather than just the pin from that photo? CX820Joe
Didn't have it in town, but put it this way - there were 9 in G&M's auction and now there are 8!
