Deere-est
Colm, you'd be no good there without an inhaler. Power Major, 7000, 6600, 8100, 7610, 2x 7810 all used daily-ish!
BC
Ransomes Unitrac Major Plough near Kippen, Stirlingshire: Nice find James. Someone of those vintage trailing plough men would still be able to do something with that one.
MJB1
nice pic james , looks like it's been waiting a while for a hedge to grow around it strange really , it was obviously used in the field surrounding it i wonder what the intention was for it when it was just unhitched & left
britainswomble
I wonder if those britains lorrys could be converted to look like this An "Ergo Cab" AEC............. luvverly bit of kit. Called "Ergo" cab from the word Ergonomics or worker friendly design. A very nice cab to work in. I used to drive a Leyland Comet with the same cab. Dinky Toys did a truck almost identical to that with a white cab and orange body. Sadly in 1/43 scale. The model ones are worth a lot of money now. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Dinky-Leyland-Tipper-Original_W0QQitemZ150351405956QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_ToysGames_DiecastVehicles_DiecastVehicles_JN?hash=item2301a46384&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A1683%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50 But not in this condition. Mint and boxed, up to two hundred quid.
MJB1
just a bit of useless information , those ergo cabs were designed by scania the biggest of which was built as the leyland marathon & marathon 2. leylands offer for the heavy 32T class before the T45 roadtrain was built or something like that anyway back on track what looks to be a 3pt linkage backhoe with cab & a votex topper, couldn't get any nearer as was the other side of a slurry lagoon a well settled tarrup mower also on the edge of the same lagoon
James T
These two are I suppose a 'variation on the theme' - an abandoned canabalised bulldozer at the granite quarry (source of curling stones) on the island of Ailsa Craig in the outer Firth Of Clyde, yesterday. Absolutely sod all chance of a hedgerow here!
MJB1
nice pics James , any idea what it would have been ? good old dung spreader & trailer , in hiding the obligatory binder & an inconspicuous Howard 100 rotaspreader

It annoys me to see diggers parked with rams open to the elements.

britainswomble
You can always tell a Leyland/ Nuffield based JCB with a quick glance in the cab. White steering wheels were always a dead giveaway. This one is what is known as "Ripe for restoration" The cabs always seemed to be the bad point, although I believe they are now available from specialist suppliers in the Classics magazines. We always used to grease up exposed rams on diggers if they weren't in use.
