powerrabbit
Sounds like it's time for the dealership to get out a Massey rep and take up the problem with the factory. inferior materials or poor design.
Tractorman810
if it was a design fault then others would be reporting the issue, so maybe its worth checking with mf headoffice to see? cant see it being to common as most i see look ok, maybe its down to user abuse?? something silly thats breaking them? flash 600
its not user abuse there all olde lads he has working for him the dealer is not much help either i seen a few with one missing but not both he may get on to mf hq so
Tractorman810
go for mf hq mate, it may be they need to issue a warning to all dealers?? or can find out any issues from other dealers, would have thought they ran some sort of colation system for constant issues / part ordering so may well know
Lord Ferguson
there are two types of front mudguards offered by MF... I've now had both of them... I can't for the life of me remember who makes them... but MF do give you the choice (although I suspect it's also on tyre width)... Have they been checked for adjustment... not just with the axle flat... but when turning on full lock with the axle on full tilt .. They are heavily adjustble in all directions

denis086
we had a problem on our 3085 the bolts kept sheering and the tractor rolling over mudguards or just one bolt sheering and the mudguard dropping down and rubbing the wheel so you were stranded tell someone came with a ratchet but it ended up the spacers mf fitted first day didnt give enough support so we made a plate for a spacer havent had a problem in years maybe you could get some one to make a stronger bracket \

sparrow legs
could be an agco supplie problem, a mate of mine has lost both front fenders off his 818 and one off a loan 818, were i used to work had a mf 3070 and the studs kept sheering on the braket bolts on them
ploughmaster
It's not just AgCo. I worked on a farm that ran Case MXM's a couple of years ago, and the front mudguards on them spent more time at the dealers being welded back together than they did on the tractors. Lord Ferguson
I didn't realise (until Friday) that an 6490's (and a lot of the big machines) have hinged mudguards which allow the wheels to turn harder than the mudguards doc Until this post it was not something I'd paid great attention too
BigX500
Have the same problem on our 6290 exel with hinge front mudguards.
unkelfergus
Thats most unlike you Mr.F,...must pay more attention. These blue machines have had this system for quite a while now.

allis8550
I used to have trouble with the front mudguards on a 6150, kept shearing the bolts and dropping off, usually at the most inoppertune moments, but funnily enough no problems with identical mudguards on my 6180. masseymodels
my mates 6475 , the bolt sheared on one of the front mudguards & wrapped round the wheel & fell off ,went under both wheels of a loaded 12ton silage trailer , it wasnt too clever after that
