happy new year from hawthorn farms.

well at the end of november 2014 i did a deal wiyh our local john deere dealers.R hunt of tilshead, wiltshire.for a new jd m962i trailed sprayer, with 36m booms, auto height control and auto section shut off.2014 really was hard on our 36m rogator.with some 1200 acres some 65 miles away and the catchy weather we seem to have more of less good days to spray.and also timeleness with getting the products on the crop.with a combinible cropping of 6000 acres for 2015 and a possible 1500 more acres of arable land for 2016.And the 2250 acres of maize for livestock silage.i think this will be a good buy.i looked at getting a 2nd rogator, but the £200.000+ was hard to justify at the momment with other projects ongoing.

i also have been looking for a replacement for our claas challenger 85e tractor. a yr 2000.with 12,000hrs on her.i looked at a 2nd agco challenger and a case quadtrac.again cost,so a deal has been done on a john deere 9560R on super singles, this is a lot cheaper than the other to.i will keep the claas 85e for the chaser bin.

a new combine header will also be in use on one of our jd s690i tracked combines for harvest 2015.

in april 2014 i sold one of our own farms.woodland farm was a 680acre farm.with 400 acres of arable,200acres of grass and 80acres of woodland.this sale will help with future building projects.

Well i can tell you after visiting Dave's display you will have a hard job to do an arial shot for 3 reasons, one is lack of head room, two its so massive it would never fit in one shot! Struggle to get the grain storage setup in one pic let alone the whole thing and 3 its in several different spaces making good use of lots of different areas! A fantastic display stacked with loads of detail from workers cottages and lanes to fields, banks with shrubbery and plenty of kit to look at. With future plans it really is an exciting display!
